There is a need to periodically clear the cache on the iPad. Without going into details both Apple and WGT recommend it. Deleting and reinstalling the app doesn’t address the junk still left in the iPad cache. For example on occasion iPad users are blocked from signing into WGT. If you delete and reinstall the app, you are still blocked. To correct the problem you need to clear the device’s cache and then you will be able to log in. One other way of looking at is that clearing the cache actually performs two operations. First operation clears the cache the second operation, if you choose to run it, clears browsing history.

What does clearing an IPhone or IPad’s Safari web browser cache have anything to do with WGT? What Scott Hope is talking about is clearing the cache of the WGT app itself (which is possible on Android devices)

I would think that just deleting and reinstalling the app on an Apple device will do this as it deletes all the apps data when uninstalling.

The last step refers to apps’ caches:

    Clearing the cache on apps

It’s not just Safari that can benefit from a cache clear-out. Individual apps can become buggy if their cache is left to accumulate for too long.

“Not all apps will have a cache, but it's worth checking to see if they do, in case you've been dealing with an app that crashes for unknown reasons. Tap Settings, then scroll down til you see the app in question, and tap to open its settings menu. If you see an option to clear the cache, select it.”
