I have a club member who is familiar with the forfeiting glitch and how to deal with it, but here’s something new that he had earlier today:  played his first 6 holes fine and was waiting for a match to be made for the last 3.  The game spun possible matches for a bit and then said “Match can’t be started because the showdown round is over.”  And then it said he had been given three bogeys for holes 7-9.

Is there any way around this glitch?

That's a new one, especially since there is currently still 16+hrs left to play the 1st day of qualifying so they couldn't have possibly missed the cutoff time to play their 9 holes. 😖

Unfortunately I don't think there is anything they did incorrectly to cause it, so I don't think there really is anything that could be done to avoid it??? And it, as all Showdown Glitches cannot be altered by WGT CS. Their only remedy is to send an email to WGT CS if they do not advance to 2nd round and will receive their entry fee back. Luckily there are still two days to qualify.

Does one have to pay again if trying to qualify again?

I believe Ishimi31 reported a similar or same issue in a previous showdown, but it might have happened in the final round.  if my memory serves me correctly.

Just more of the same type of problems in yet another showdown.

AD yes you have to pay again if you try and qualify at the second chance of doing so .

I haven’t seen that glitch before , but it looks as though he has been given bogeys like you do if you exit after having been waiting a long time for a match up .

I'm familiar with this one. My guess is that it's a temporary loss of connection between the player and the server. On who's end it probably doesn't matter.

The opposing player probably saw your name and maybe avatar if you loaded first. then you log out and there only be about 25 seconds or so for you to log back in.

I had it happen to me a showdown  ago. Personally i didn't message them or care about the 100 credits. it was the first round so i just paid another 100 credits and ended up winning the thing.

    AKD,

Rule #1 in Showdown often explained by WGT is unfinished hole is a bogey.

Are you sure your member did not finish in time?  Cut it too close?

The spinning might have prevented him from starting last match so I empathize.  But we all have learned too long spinning, exit out and come back.

But for some sympathy for your member, and it has happened to me, just as I exited out on last 3 holes, game came on and I got hit with a forfeit and +3.  Awful timing, WGT gremlins.

    Tom.

Yes, Tom, I am absolutely certain there was no “cutting it close.”  The guy in question is an experienced Tour Champion from the UK who tried to play his 9 holes before I was even awake that first day.  As Marchie points out above, my guy had 16 more hours to go on Day 1 when he got WGT’d.

not in a showdown. you will almost always if not always get hit with 3 bogeys if you do this.

The bug being talked about is a rare enough thing that it's probably best to just wait it out. Since the other option is a given negative outcome.
