The Back 9 at Pebble Beach has ALWAYS separated the best from the average players.

The back 9 at Pebble Beach is tougher than the front 9 in real life as well.  Just look at the scores the PGA pros shoot on holes 1-7 vs. holes 8-18.

I've always done better on the Front 7 than on the Back 11.

The back at PB is tough, but it can be managed. Approach shots require more thought than usual as there are significant consequences if you miss and the consequences multiply the more you miss. One thing to try in practice rounds is experimenting with ball spin. The winds are a big factor as well and they can cause you to adjust your wind offsets more than you normally would in order to account for sloping greens.
