Is there anyway you can calculate the correct distance when hitting downhill shots on par 3 holes?
I appreciate that you will have to take the wind speed and direction into consideration also but my hit and miss theory is very erratic and in no way accurate.

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

By no means is the following suggestion a "perfect" solution but it is a good place to begin.

Take the elevation and divide by 3.

Subtract that number from the distance to the pin.

This should give you a more accurate number. There are some holes that play longer using this formula and there are some holes that play shorter.

Keep in mind that not all Par 3's play the same. This is where taking notes comes in handy. Make adjustments to your own notes as you go.

    Good luck and happy plodding

Also keep in mind since you are hitting off of a tee instead of the ground your shot might travel a slight bit more. On most par 3 holes I deduct 2% from the distance before making any other calculations. For me that works out pretty good. .
