The way I use is I downlead audio cables

    https://vb-audio.com/Cable/

I would recommend finding a video on how to properly set them up, but once they are you have full control on what sound is happening on stream. I have one cable tied just to my music so I can just mute that cable in my obs but still freely have it playing in my headset

    ScottHope:

    Hello gents,

because of my tinnitus I tend to have music playing on my PC most of the time. Is there anyway to separate the music (Windows Media Player) from the game audio, so that it is not heard on stream, but I can still hear it through my headphones?

    Thank you.  ; )

Thank you both, I will check out those options.  ; )

    EDIT :
I followed your directions Yiannis and made a recording (hope that works the same way as a stream) and neither the music or game audio were recorded.  : (

    EDIT2 :
Nico, playing around with vb-audio at the moment but a little bit confused, lol. Might be asking some questions later.

It is probably my set up Yiannis, which is a bit odd.

I have two computers, both connected up to one monitor. The audio output from the older PC (which I use primarily as a TV) is connected to the audio input of the newer PC, so that I can listen to the output of either PC without changing any cable connections.

I don't know if that is causing the problems, or whether it is Windows 11, but I will persevere.

Which device are you using as your default audio device Scott? The external or internal source?

Thanks again Yiannis, I will have a look at that after breakfast. 👍

EDIT : Played around with things but I can't sort it out. If I change anything it seems to knock out the audio output from my other PC and it's more important for me that that is working than to be able to stream. Thanks for the help but I will leave it for now.  ; )

And I thought I was a wizard working with a DIY VR system...
