    Imahacker58:

The Saudi circus will always have to cannibalise the pga and European tours, they wont spend millions developing players, just throw dollars at those looking for an easy pay day. Be surprising if it’s still a thing in 3 years imo. Judging by the first tournament Phil is only there as a figurehead, and he should be embarrassed with his efforts in the US Open, sad watching his decline from greatness.

    That ^^^.

Another +1 for Imahacker58's comment from me too.

Also, have you noticed that many of the guys joining the LIV tend to be ones that are not very well-thought-of by their peers in the PGA?

Can't wait to watch Patrick Reed build sand castles in Saudi Arabia.  Plenty of sand there 🏰

Start of a new era perhaps .

England's Matt Fitzpatrick was swamped by his family after superbly holding off the world's best players to claim his first major title with a one-shot victory in the US Open at Brookline.

The 27-year-old was also hugged by Rory McIlroy on the 18th green as he became just the third Englishman in 52 years to win the sport's second oldest major.

Fitzpatrick shot a two-under 68 for a six-under total to beat world number one Scottie Scheffler (67) and Will Zalatoris (69) in a gripping battle that went to the final hole..

American Brooks Koepka is set to quit the PGA Tour and join the Saudi Arabian-backed LIV Golf series. The four-time major champion, 32, is expected to play in the second 54-hole, 48-man tournament that runs from 30 June to 2 July in Portland, Oregon.

Players who have joined the Saudi Arabian-backed LIV Golf series will be allowed to play at The Open at St Andrews next month. The PGA Tour suspended 17 members who played in the inaugural LIV Golf event, including Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson. The European-based DP World Tour is expected to announce whether it will punish its rebels on Thursday.

Sounds like there's another golf league coming to compete with the LIV 😂

The DP World Tour has banned players who competed in June's Saudi Arabian-backed LIV Golf event from next month's Scottish Open and fined them £100,000.

The players can also not play in the PGA Tour's Barbasol Championship and Barracuda Championship in July.

The Scottish Open is one of the DP World Tour's most lucrative events and is used by many players as preparation for The Open, held the following week.
