I dont understand why their isn't a carry over after the last hole if you still have skins up for grabs. Be like sudden death.

I agree.  The first time I played I just expected it to go extra holes.  Also, it is a serious problem when you have a quitter (and we know that happens way often).  I stopped playing skins because of the problem with the game handling quitters.

    Hi

I don't think we have that nor will have. I am not sure of the exact reason but I have seen some situations where last hole was worth 8000 credits, so maybe it is a bit much for 1 hole? I am not sure... Are there any players who like how it is now?

I accuse WGT of obfuscation re no carryovers on last hole!

It seems to me that by not paying out the credits that ought to fairly contested (regardless of the size), WGT is (in effect) confiscating people's money!

Yeah, I KNOW it's credits and not cash, but just how much cash does it cost to replace those lost credits?

WGT already "loses balls" in their own favor - now they want to "lose credits" the same way?

It is one of the reasons I will not play skins for credits!

None that I know of, Icon....The Skins Game is played with extra holes if not all skins are won...see below:

The Skins Game differs from most PGA Tour golf tournaments in several ways. Only four golfers are invited to the tournament and the golfers play to win individual holes or "skins" in amatch play format. Each hole is assigned a different monetary value and the golfer who wins the hole with the best score outright wins the money for that hole. In the event that two or more golfers tie (which is called "halving") on a hole, the skins carry over to the next hole. In the event that two or more golfers halve the final hole, a playoff begins until one golfer wins a hole outright. (In a playoff that requires more than one playoff hole, if a player is not one of those that halve the playoff hole, he is eliminated—it is not "one tie, all tie".)

I'd be lying if I said I didn't like it the way it is now.

Every skins game I've played's been fun. The MPC Skins games are a hoot.

Possibly carrying over after the 9th and playing sudden death would be a plus.

The skins game on television differs from the regular skins games that many of us play in real golf.  In real golf, generally a skin is worth a stated amount for the entire 18 hole round, I have played using carry overs and not using them.

In the television format, the skins always carry over and the amounts increase every 3 or 6 holes.  There is always a playoff for the skins left on 18 as well.  I actually think the way that WGT has it set up is the proper way.

In the real world, the prize money is donated by the sponsors/organisers,

In WGT skins, when we start playing for credits the players pay in to the "prize" fund and WGT takes its cut as the course provider.

Therefore as I see it, any skins left at the end of normal play should either be split between the remaining players (no quitters cut lol) or extra holes played until an outright winner is found.

I'm not sure how it's set up for free games .. but for the only 2 games I played for credits .... I agree with TarHeels .. this is set up the same way a regular 4 some would be set up.  Nothing wrong with that.

    EXCEPT ......

The fee comes out up front  regardless of the outcome.    If no skins are won (all the holes tied) ... you still pay the fee with no credits changing hands.

Example .. 4 Players play a game for 25 cred's per hole + the WGT fee of 30 credits.  That's 225 credits bet for the total 9 holes.    Let's say all 9 holes are tied ... The 225 credits are refunded to each player .. BUT they already paid 30 credits each to play the game.    In other words ... you paid to play a regular round.

WGT --- here is a suggestion.  I have no issue with paying a fee ... but calculate the fee after the fact, based on how many credits changed hands ... in other words ... if it's a tie .. no one wins .. including WGT.

    Thanks,

I agree with Ivietri here.  I played 9 holes with 2 others last night and all holes were tied.  We didn't play that match for credit but it would have felt kind of empty to end up with no payday for all involved yet we each ponied up 30 credits to WGT.
