Playing on the PC version of the game at times the mouse tuns on making a big mishit. It doesn't happen every time but it does happen with every mouse that I use.

Does anyone know what causes this and how to stop it.

This morning I tried turning off any app running in the background that I didn't think would affect the performance of my PC.

I still had quite a few big mishits that I was sure I clicked closely enough to if not get a ding get a near ding. It is frustrating because I really think I could play much better if I didn't get all these big mishits.

Funnny enough this also happen on an iPad with the finger. In the past WGT said , when I hit the screen on the ding if it isn’t in the right place on the screen it appears to miss the ding , but the shot is still correct. I am not certain this is right , but it does focus my mind on making sure I hit my finger on the right bit of the screen !
Not sure how this translates to using a mouse !

Has this issue recently cropped up Joe, or is it a long term thing?

No experience with this but try changing usb ports either for the mouse or, if wireless, mouse dongle. Perhaps a new mouse driver? Just guessing.

It started to get worse when I got my new PC with Windows 11.

I would not have thought that a simple thing like changing usb ports would have made a big difference but that seems to have helped greatly. I played 27 holes and only had a couole of big mishits and that was just not paying attention.

    Glad you got it!

Pretty much anything electronic that is not working right- unplug and re-plug, try different plug, tap with hand, hit with hammer...in that order is my repair procedure.

I posted the suggestion just before you posted you had a new machine doing the same thing. Figured my suggestion was moot. It may be only a placebo, but hope it continues to help. :)

Some mice are more sensitive and easier to click than others.

While that helped quite q bit I was still getting more  big miss dings that I thought were caused by slow clicks. I have been using 2 different mice switching back and forth between the 2 trying to get less big miss dings. Today I noticed that the driver for the one mouse I haven't used for awhile still   had about 10 or so files open in task manager, I tried to end the task and they would immediately reopen. I uninstalled that mouse driver and so far after 1 round no big miss dings. So if anyone else is having trouble like this check and see if you have more than 1 dedicated mouse  driver installed.
