WGTNico: Hey everyone, over the weekend I some of you were questioning (mostly in the discord but this post is still relevant to post in here as well) the why on Goals & Achievements and I wanted to make a statement and better explain that exact answer. Now this is not me trying to change your opinion on how you feel about it, but I do want to give a bit more insight into why G&A was an amazing addition into the game (even with some of the annoying bugs that came with release).
I saw the way you spoke to Kay on Discord, unfairly in my view, but I will risk being honest all the same. On Kay she has played well over 13,000 alt shot games and a load of MP (I can't be bothered counting). can you not see how spending more time on fixing the invites, instead of using it on stuff like this may be more important to her. I don't think she was aggressive just frustrated with a bug that's been around for 18 months? (I'm not actually sure but at least that long I'd think). And of course she's asked about it before, about here it sounded like she was getting fed up and I've seen two more threads after that. Perhaps they are increasingly frustrated but is that surprising?.
WGTNico: One of it not THE biggest complaint we see about WGT is that the game is too expensive. That's a perfectly understandable complaint, so we wanted to create a way to award people by playing the game. Goals & Achievements fulfills this by giving you credits by just playing the game.
WGTNico: To go past the 60-70 stars you can get in a week, then you'll need to upgrade to a plus or premier membership. We want to bring more benefits and make it worthwhile to those that pay for it, and this was our first work into actually beginning to do so. Goals & Achievements replaced weekly wins as well as the old flash awards
To get even to the 60pts may involve stuff like "use an effect" or "get an eagle in a tournament", these cost credits (ball hits) and maybe more than the 5C you win. To get more then as you say you'll need the plus (9,900c) or premier (18,000c). How is that making the game less expensive?!
I've seen you repeatedly talk about "free stuff", my initial question would be how can stuff you need to complete tasks for be free? The whole thing with apparel is you need to have it if you don't want to be at a disadvantage in certain games/tournaments.
Yes you'll pick up odd bits of apparel and many xp's just doing what you usually do but you wont keep up with those above 70 stars and I can't see where the credits will come from.
So a new pay to win system replaced one only based on actual wins and this is supposed to be a way of making the game less expensive :-/ This is for those that can afford premier and the credit rich, as if the latter needed more of an advantage.
A side note; I suppose with the many xp's around now we can look forward to more L102 TP's and TM's and lots of restarts and multi's.
