You can see a list of changes made here: http://www.wgt.com/news/archive/2009/12/17/new-experience-on-bethpage-free-avatar-for-a-limited-time-and-gifting.aspx

Here are some things to note:

    • Ready-go tournament leaderboards are not published until all spaces are filled for the tournament. We will add messaging to make this clearer.
    • You may notice that when you start a multiplayer round, your reputation percentage will drop. However, this is a temporary state until you complete the round. Once you complete (or drop) the round, the correct reputation percentage will display.
    • Reputation percentage should not be affected by practice rounds. We are working on a resolution for this.
    • You should only be able to enter into one ready-go tournament at a time. We are working on a resolution for this.
    • To use a new avatar, you need to go to the Appearance tab of your profile, not the Equip page.
    • When you switch from a female avatar to the free male avatar, the formatting of your avatar menu becomes messed up, where the free avatar seems to be hidden behind the leftmost avatar. We are looking into this.

Wow, can't wait to get my hands on it all!

Hooray, new pin placements!!   The only thing I'm not terribly keen on is the multiplayer aspect defaulting the hole location to a player's tier.  I think in a multiplayer ranked/scored round that one of the pin placement groups should be selected at random.

More thoughts later.  Time to get dirty =)

*edit*  I'm being given the option to play the Ready-Go Kiawah tournament even though as of this moment there are only 17/50 people entered.  I figured the tournament wouldn't and I wouldn't be able to play my round until it was full.  Am I supposed to have the option play already?

*edit 2* I was able to enter both the Kiawah (ID:1006) & Bethpage (ID:1005) Ready-Go's despite the fact that the FAQ says I should only be able to enter 1 at a time.

How many tournaments can I enter at a time?
You will only be able to enter one Ready-Go tournament at a time. Once the tournament you are entered in is finished and prizes are paid out you’ll be able to enter another Ready-Go tourney.

Kudos on mutliple pin locations! It's a great Christmas present for everyone. I agree with what Nivlac says regarding this, though.

The reputation ranking is terribly botched, as we mentioned in another thread. You are now punishing the victims of quitters along with quitters. You are punishing players who play sudden-death shootouts. I hope WGT will fix this soon, based on the suggestions in the other thread. Thank you.

Nivlac - in regards to the ready go tournaments, you can play your round immediately after you enter.  Your score will be logged so when the tournament is filled your score will be entered on the leaderboard with the start of the tournament.

As for the pin positions on multiplayer rounds, we will look into a more advanced system in the future.

In regards to the reputation ranking we have heard suggestions on both side of the debate and will run this compromise solution and see how it works.

Thanks for helping us figure this out.

    Right on.

If I were to play and finish this round right before the tournament filled up, would people who have not entered the tourney be able to see my score?

    Nevermind, reading is fundamental. =)

WGTadmin2, thanks for the reply... Here is the part that is totally wrong about the reputation tracking:

    FAQ:
If the player does not complete the game in the multi-player format or as a single player it will count as an unfinished game.

Someone gets ditched by a quitter, or 2-3 quitters, yet you are going to penalize that person in the same way as the quitters, or force him to play rounds alone? Why not consider a failed multi-player round to be a single-player round as soon as someone finds himself/herself alone on the course? It's inconsistent with your not tracking unfinished single-player rounds.

Until the fix highlighted above is implemented, I fear reputation tracking is useless and I will be avoiding random pickup multi-player games just as much as I have until now, because I'd end up with the same low reputation score as all the quitters.

Exactly, Jan!    I believe reputation tracking in this form is useless and WGT should cancel it. It punishes the victims of quitters in the same way as quitters, enough said.

Ready to go tournaments not allowed in Florida.  Great update but why can we have this in Florida.  This is just not fair.

Although I can sympathize with Faterson and oneeyed, I feel it must be pointed out that players are not completely helpless to prevent a drop in their reputation.  If the player who is left behind simply finishes his or her round then they are not penalized.

At this point a quit is a quit is a quit.  The reasons leading up to the quit (bad internet connection, cat on the keyboard, player hits a bad shot and leaves to protect his avg, the last player left alone quits due to abandonment ) are irrelevant because in the end the bottom line is you left the game.  To a point I agree with that because you can't really start discriminating between circumstances of disconnections and say that X type of quitting is ok, but Y type of quitting is not.

Given the choice of all or nothing, I'll take all and accept the bad with the good.  IMO it is better in it's current form than it was yesterday.
