I am new to WGT, or golf in general for that matter. I am considering buying new clubs/irons but I have no frame of reference when it comes to club A vs. club B (irons putters included). If I were to buy new equipment should I just buy the highest one that is currently available to me or should I pick something else. Where I have no first hand knowledge of golf clubs how do I choose? I don't want to waste my money on buying clubs that I will want to replace in a short period of time. Any help at all in helping me choose, or educating me on "how" to choose,,, will be appreciated. Thanks, Owl (aka, nightowl1)

If I were you I would get 3 Z Satin wedges -- 54, 60 and 64. You can keep these for a long time. (drop the hybrid) Also, get the R11 3 wood. This will go farther than your current driver, is much more precise and forgiving, and you can also keep it for a while (as a 3 wood). Finally, I would get the ghost spider level 35 putter when you get there. Again, you can keep it for a long time...(many who have bought the higher level ghost have switched back to the level 35 because it has a slower meter). Start with these and look at a driver and irons later, after you level up and get more experience. if you get these now you will most likely have to replace them soon. of course, the more you spend the quicker you'll score well and advance tiers.

In general, the clubs' specs tell you everything you need to know: distance, precision, spin, forgiveness. more dots is always better. the meter speed is also a key consideration.

I somewhat followed your advice, somewhat in the form of,, I decided to buy some credits (5,000) and rather than buy piecemeal I bought the entire set.  I have played one, 18hole round with them so far and where my average was around (guessing mind you) the 100mark, with the new clubs my average round went up a good 10 strokes. Mainly because of distance. Wow do these clubs travel far. I'm going to have to get used to distances compared with my old set.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll looking to buy new clubs or a set soon as well. I do have a question though, can you sell your old clubs for credits via the game or does that have to be done between players? Thanks again!

Click on your profile, then your equipment, then you can sell your old clubs back to the shop. You can't sell to other players.
