Back to the beginning...since everyone has found their own tangent to follow...surely everyone must admit there is an interface moment between your mouse click, the browser, and the server...

Is there a "gain" (industrial term for a "grace dimension, i.e. +1, +1.5, etc.) built into the "ding" decision that can be applied arbitrarily or selectively to certain classes (tiers, or other parameter) of players?

Anyone remember a period when the meter bar would "slide thru" the click line, no matter how early your mouse click was??

    Yes, it's called VEM.

Now that VEM is brought up, this might be interesting for the OP to read.

The "inventor" Yuchiang Cheng was a co-founder, with Chad, of WGT.  So VEM was specifically designed for WGT.

Interesting that the fee has a 11.5 year payout, last due date shows as April, 2022. Could you imagine if they were late in payment.

Just because WGT has a patent for VEM doesn't mean they've implemented it in the game exactly as it's specified in the patent.  This is something the conspiracy theorists forget.

WGT has already stated that the way VEM is actually implemented in the game is to help struggling players get back on track, then it disappears.

    WGTChampion:

Okay so how does this translate to VEM?

VEM is in place to help, not to hurt. If a player is playing poorly VEM will kick in and do slight corrections. It's not going to save a ball aimed at the water, but it may give a small forgiveness boost to help. On the other end it's not going to make a terrible putt magically go into the cup.

Once the player begins to play a little better VEM will drop out and the player will be on their own again.

    Correct, Scott.

The way I view and take VEM based on my experience of playing for years is that it makes you get results you don't deserve sometimes and it works in BOTH ways, meaning good shots going awfully wrong and bad shots ending up being totally decent. So it's more like a double-edged sword. As you stated, "conspiracy theorists" often focus on good ones gone bad only while they totally forget about their "badly executed but tolerated" shots because they're so good players, thus it can't happen. LOL

I think the inventor of this game has a profound understanding of gambling aspects & elements, in other words, he knows exactly what factors keep people addicted to gambling (to WGT in this case here), the same mechanism & principles applied to casino business.

2-4 pixels either side of the line...would you even know if you are in the preferred group?

Just hit 2000 hours, the automatic 1 hour pixel refresh will refresh the progress .

Do not be scared of the pixel refresh affecting uniformity .

Looks like you cannot disable it though .

Discord bloggers say WGT  did not implement an auto pixel refresh into it's  panels and even warns you on their website from performing too many .

The centre of the ding has been heavy saturated .  The pixel's on the left and right of the screen are obviously at a different stage of their life cycle .

The issue is it sets the pixels back to a base point but unfortunately some can return to that point and burn .

    Scott and Simon,

A question I have always wanted to ask. Does VEM work on a “graduated scale” meaning does the amount of intervention vary? Like maybe a percentage scale - one round you maybe are at 98% VEM meaning VEM is a very strong position to effect your shots and a round later your VEM is at 75% meaning there is less interference in your shots. Never could wrap my head around the concept that VEM knows when and by how much to influence your shots. Read a good bit of stuff on it and viewed the scattergrams but have never really found an answer. Any thoughts?
