If you're talking about the Glowing Green "Hit it this Hard" putting aid as I suspect you are, then that is NOT Putter Pal. That is "Putting Power Tip" and does not work outside of Coin games and practice RR's.
You would be much better off turning it off in your options menu and learning how to calculate putting distances.
Putter Pal (and shot Pal) are just the 1/10th scales on your Shot/Putting meter. If you're actually having issues with those then the most likely remedy to this issue is to go into your options and turn them BOTH OFF and save. Go back into options and turn then both back ON and save.
