I would like to see the avatar transparent all the time on the green. There are some shot positions that the avatar is not transparent and gets in the way of the breaks of the green

I second that strongly. even better would be the option of turning it transparent, say by pressing the 't' key. is that possible, wgt?

How about a first person view where there is no avatar at all?

    Hi slipper,

If you drag the aimer around to an area that is blocked by your avatar it should force your avatar to go translucent like in the picture below:

Perfect!  I go translucent on the real course all the time.  My friends turn around, can barely see me... "Where's DMM?"  I'm over at the beverage cart buying us all gin & tonics!  Or digging through my bag for the cutter and Cuban for each of us.

I've also had putts where the avatar should have been transparent according to where the aim marker was, but it wasn't.

I've only come across this issue on a few occasions out of many putts, so it seems to only happen under specific circumstances.  I believe it happens depending on the viewing angle you're given in conjunction with where the aim marker is placed.

    WGTniv,

thanks for the response; i'm aware that if you put the aimer over the avatar it turns translucent. but... i'm one of those who likes to use the aiming line b/w the aimer and put to gauge lines, and not being able to do that when the avatar is in the way is annoying. it matters more on longer putts--the kind i'm getting at OCC, e.g. :) -- where i'm trying to read how the line of the putt will break over a break; seeing /both/ the break and the dots hidden by the avatar would be what i'd like to be possible.

    Any chance of that happening?

    best and many thanks,

    sh

I believe I understand what you mean.  I can't speak to when that could be made available but I'll definitely send it in as a suggestion.

Just to add my two cents, I was playing the free multi at KI. On #5 the ball was pin high, 10ft right of the hole. The avatar was directly in front of the hole and didn`t go translucent no matter how I moved the marker. To add insult to injury, the reverse view was off-center by 2 yds. uphill. I sent a bug report, with a reference to this thread, and also agreed with the suggestion of an on/off option for the translucency issue.

The same situation happened at OCC the other day, except that I had 30ft to the hole and I got the avatar to fade...but only when the aim was 10ft  in the wrong direction!

Understanding the constraints of the amount of photo angles for lining up shots, this option becomes very important (imo) to get the most info out of the game before hitting the ball. The Sky-caddie cameras that were added made a huge difference, just as this would (could?) make all the difference of a birdie or bogie. :)
