improve the golf, not the marketing

  i would just like to say that all the recent changes like the animation and sounds on the tiebreaker screen, the new concede graphic, etc are all well and good but there are some very vexing problems with the golf itself. the hole is too small and the pin is too fat compared to actual golf dimensions. often the ball rolls halfway over the hole and does not deflect or go in. the ball comes out of the rough like it hit the concrete cart path. often the ball rockets out of the long grass as well. i appreciate that you are a business and i don't begrudge you that but when marketing is more important than the game many of us have played for many years then something is wrong. i realise fixing code is tricky but that is what you are getting paid for so it would be nice if you could improve the golf aspect of the game. you will still make lots of money. but people who play will be happier to pay.

  I see your point and agree with you, OP. (Well, not on the size of cup & flag but your perspectives in general on improving the game rather than marketing.)

  Ever since WGT was acquired by TopGolf, it is clear that very little investment has been made in the game itself, and unfortunately, this is a common phenomenon when one company becomes a subsidiary of another.

  As long as WGT stays under the roof of TopGolf, it's doubtful that any dramatic improvement would be made in the game.

  Regardless, let's hope for the best and expect the least.

  The target group of this game has changed, so, the priorities have been changed also. It's not an aspiring golf simulation game anymore but more like an arcade golf for gamers, mostly teenagers.

  I agree Yiannis. Just having no uneven lies and no ability to hook or slice makes this game much easier and that attracts the masses. Everyone can get to the greens easily... too easily in my opinion. 

  Ah, but the greens can be tricky and downright mean. Lack of camera angles while putting is frustrating. Seems I have diamonds instead of squares on all critical putts. Then there's the times when the ball comes off the putter sideways. Wish I could predict that outcome. 

  In Summation: Tee to green is too easy. Putting is difficult, but I would not make it easier.

  To the OP, "F" removes the "fat pin" at any point. Maybe that will make the hole look bigger.

  Exactly, Yiannis! That is how TopGolf takes golf basically. Ever been to one of their venues? It is NOT a place for people who take the sport seriously. For TopGolf, it's never been about golf itself, but rather whooping it up using golf only as a medium.

  TopGolf's been applying the exactly same approach to WGT so it's not surprising the game's becoming an arcade mickey-mouse joke with coin room matches, magical apparel abilities, goals & achievements now... And you know what? The worst is yet to come, trust me.

  When a kid is adopted by clown parents, he will be dressed like a clown. Simple!
