With the new putting scale, I thought this may be of help for those that are struggling to cope.

No putter that I have seen. I have never seen one with a 10 foot scale. Except for the 10 foot scale it looks like the Daytona scale.

    Numbers across the top (1 - 10) are percentages (multiply by 10 to give 10 - 100).

The different lines below that are the different putter scales (15, 30, 60, etc.), with the distances for the respective percentages (on flat green, standard speed)  (ie: 70% of 15ft scale = 10.5 ft).

It's nothing groundbreaking, and anyone with a reasonably decent grasp of multiplication can probably do the calcs in their head.

Explaining my reason for starting this thread

Directly after the last maintenance, I joined a friend for a game and when we both reached the green we found an overlay on the putting meter which was split into percentages..

Both of us are used to playing with a blank meter and both of us found it difficult to ignore the meter and go for our putts in the usual places.due to the dominance of the scale.

So believing the scale to be a new feature - I worked out the scale to assist my friend and myself to adjust and then posted it for anyone that was interested.

The scale lasted the whole of one game, a few holes in practice and about 3 holes in a new game before vanishing.

It seems from reading posts that we were not the only players affected.

The overlay seems to have come from a feature called putter pal, why it got onto our screens I have no idea, neither my friend or I have ever purchased this feature

    Perhaps WGT has an explanation.

Interesting to note though, while it did work, in conjunction with the Scale I produced and allowing for the green speed and uphill /down hill lie - it was very accurate

That was the 'Putter Pal' Chips... Wgt must have given it out to everybody as a gift to see what they think. I think it lasted for about 10 putts.  I hated it, thk goodness it's gone....lol.

A note to new players...I use the old Redwood putter.  I know, I know...there are newer, more expensive and more accurate putters out there...but for my game it works just fine.  Besides, I like the Redwood's meter and I'm not one to get on the hamster wheel every time WGT comes out with something new.

On my *blog, I've broken down the Redwood's meter into 3 or 6 sections for all distances.  It's not perfect but it gives you approximate power distances at different places on the scale.  Keep in mind that we are talking about distance control, you'll still need to learn how to read putts, which is another subject all together.

After you've been here a while, you'll also learn about FEEL (it's not really something you can easily teach) but it will make the game much more enjoyable and you'll play faster without all that other stuff getting in the way.

*PS: Hit View All as the information is near the bottom of a bunch of other stuff.
