Playing Cabo 18hole R/Go...    I was -8 after 6 holes..  Bird, Eagle, Bird(chip stopped 2 inches short for eagle), Eagle, Bird, Bird.

Hit the tee shot into bunker on the 7th, it looked good off the tee too.. hit out and ball went 10ft past hole and a big curler coming back... 2 putted for bogey...hmmm.

-7 after 7holes... scramble a par on the 8th... Bogey the 9th, bogey the 10th and the 11th...grrrrrrr

I was fuming, my hairs were standing on end... the cat bolted outside in terror.... what a shambles....lol... ended the game with -8... what a headcase I am....lol.

Typical blasted golf, once you start getting angry at how your playing, the whole game is shot to pieces .....lol and what a waste of a fantastic start...hmmm

lol yes where does it go, one moment you're 'in the zone' the next hole the 'zone' is in the next country, I guess (no consolation of course) we've all got these stories, but thanks for yours, you've probably got a lot of empathy out there

I love Cabo but today I had a shocker. I had an eagle putt on the first par 5, I was one under. I like birdieing the first, gives you a good feeling. Not to tricky the putt, downhill but a possibility. Forgot to change the meter and putted off the green. Fought back to be 6 under at the turn. Forget to change the meter speed again and I gave up. On the last and this is a shocker. Above the hole. 9 ft downhill. 7 inches down hill. gave it 1.6 on the meter and it ended up 21 feet below the hole. I don t know why but since I turned legend I am forgetting the change the meter an awful lot. Maybe WGT can flash up a warning on the screen, 25ft, 25 ft, 25 ft etc

Cabo can be a cruel companion or an eagle hunters dream depending on your concentration. Yesterday I missed a 1.8 foot putt for birdie....yes you read right, 1.8 feet on the 2nd. I hit it in, thought that's stiff, never even looked at the break and just hit it. I then proceeded to miss 2 other 4 footers before driving the 11th and  after taking an age to work out the line I didn't change down from the 50 foot scale and putted it 24 feet past, lol.

To top it off I did my usual on 18 in that my approach finished pin high and then the 5.5 feet putt went 21 feet. In all 3x3putts and two 4/5 feet putts for bird missed. I finished the round with a 58 and thought........if only. Cabo is great fun to play though :)

1st hole is one of the hardest holes to Bird.  I also have missed a 1.8ft putt on the 2nd hole.

    Cabo is very enjoyable.

Which brings the question to mind....   Why is it enjoyable?

I think because you can shoot alot of Birds and Eagles....  You can drive some of the Holes and off the shorter Tees with a good wind you can get that 400+ drive off the rocks on one of the Holes.

Love 'em or loathe 'em, Cabo & Whistler are fun, they're something different.

I'd love to see both of these courses made available to play (preferably free, or perhaps at reduced cost) in Country Clubs.

If I ever find myself in a situation like that, I get up, go outside, make some coffee, have a smoke, stroke the cat etc etc and then come back and pretend like I don't really give a toss,

I did that exact thing when I shot my 26 coz my nerves were all over the place when I found myself -6 after 5 holes lol (As hard as I tried, I couldn't get myself to "not give a toss") and trembled my way to the end..

Nice story, I wish that streak could have continued for you but it's those exact type of rounds that keep us coming back for more :-)

And here I thought I was the only one who missed those putts.
