I should probably know the answer to this, but its only since the big money RG's started that I began to wonder

I played the Oakmont RG (500) low wind, fast greens, easy tees, fair enough

Today I played the Oakmont RG (500) and the pin on the second was at the top left, the other day it was the new position (top right)

Today the pin on 9 was just over the bunker, last time I played it was the new position (left of centre mid green)

I also know that the 2K St Andrews I've had different pin positions but the tournament details are the same.

I know its a long winded question, but if the details are the same for each RG, why do the pins change, and also and more to the point - does everyone get the same pins or are we playing roulette with the pins as well as the wind

I would be 99.99% sure that the pins are the same for everyone in each particular RG.

Because every RG is a separate tournament, it's no surprise that you see different pin locations. Each tournament will have a mix of hard/easy pins ( just like any ranked round), but all 50 contestants will play the same pins.

I would hope so to, but I've not had confirmation lol, and if that is the case then why are the conditions the same? , the three variables, wind, greens and pins - you can't advertise easy pin placement then stick hard pins - or can you?

Like I said, oakmont was low, fast, easy - the pins change - we all know the pin on #9 isn't the easy pin but I had it the second time I played, not the first but the conditions for both round were low, fast, easy

Every other tournament that's offered uses the same pins for everyone that plays, why would individual Ready-Go tournaments be any different?

And even advertising easy, medium, or hard pins is kind of ambiguous. Easy doesn't mean ALL of the easier pins and Hard doesn't equal all of the tougher pins, rather that the mix of pin placements would lean a little more toward one or the other. If it says easy pins, you might  still see at least a couple of the harder pins.,.. set up repeated practice rounds with the same conditions for each and you can see that for a fact.

WGTIcon - can you confirm that in each RG everyone has the same pin placements please?

I had different Pins again in the St Andrews 2K RG so I'd like confirmation

    Thanks

You've responded to other threads whilst this question has been active, can you confirm that in a RG every entrant has exactly the same pin positions please

Confirmation of what???? Another stupid conspiracy theory ? As if we don't have enough of those already?

Yes.. you had different pins in 2K RG at St. Andrews . I'd be willing to bet that it has a  tournament #, doesn't it?

I'd be willing to bet that the last 2K RG you played at St. Andrews  ALSO had a tournament #.

I'll go out on a limb here and guarantee that both tournaments had different tournament numbers.... 2 different tournament numbers = 2 totally different tournaments, which DOES NOT = the same pin set.

I've answered your question at least twice in this same thread. Everyone in any particular tournament plays the same damned set of pins ....  ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY FOR EVERY TOURNAMENT.

dont recall asking you but thanks for the input, I could have figured that out for myself though

Heres a thought if you can't manage to read something without getting wound up about it and posting a rant back, don't f'ing bother

and underlining and capitalising does not make you right btw, what might have made you right would be a link something from wgt that said yes the pins are the same for everyone, thats all I was asking, and I wasn't asking you

I'm allowed to ask questions, I was civil, you posted an opinion but as the question wasn't directed at you forgive me for not taking any bloody notice at all
