Rats can tell the difference between Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling wine. We don’t know if they have a preference. My pet rats would leave wine, beer, but I would have to keep the glass well out of reach if I was drinking a whisky .. Sometimes they'd even try to prise my mouth open to get a taste .

Feeding fungi to cows reduces the amount of methane in their burps. ----- I read somewhere that cows produce the most amount of harmful gases to the environment than any other creature. Excluding man.

In the 1970s, the CIA developed ‘insectohopters’ - flying listening devices that looked like dragonflies. They were never used because they couldn’t fly in cross winds of over 5mph. ----------- The most shocking thing about all this is that they couldn't come up with 'Dragonspies' and landed on 'Insectohopters'! From that moment on, it deserved to fail.

In the late 19th century, a group of golf enthusiasts wanted to play in the dark. They coated their golf balls in a phosphorescent chemical. It was a success, until a ball ignited and set one man’s glove on fire. ----- Apparently this is being introduced in the new apparel section .

When Rudyard Kipling lived in Brattleboro, Vermont, he painted his golf balls orange so he could play in the snow . It’s really unpleasant when your balls ignite!
