Is there some way we can indicate players who will leave a round early when it's not going as well as they would like? I just started a round with a player who shall remain anonymous, but for the sake of argument let's call him "kellyaris" This is a player who enters a group to play a round, then ends up in the fringe after 3 on the first hole. He promptly disconnects. He comes into the round with a sub-70 average, and leaves when that average is threatened by his own play. Or the other type of quitter who will join a group then leave at the 10th tee by claiming that he/she didn't know it was a full 18 hole ranked round. "macduff10" I'm looking in your direction.
These are typically players with very low average scores, and they don't want to endanger them with an average round. I realize that things happen: you get called in to work, your house catches fire, your wife and girlfriend tell you at the same time that they're pregnant, I get it, things happen. But after a certain number of withdrawals during the course of a month something should be done. Add strokes to their average, suspend them, whatever. I do know that it's getting tiresome to have a group playing an enjoyable round when someone quits because their artificial average is in danger of increasing. I enjoy playing here, and would like to see some sanctions placed on those who enter and withdraw from rounds when they might possibly shoot par. It sure seems like that would put an end to that kind of behavior, and produce more reliable scoring averages.
