Is there some way we can indicate players who will leave a round early when it's not going as well as they would like?  I just started a round with a player who shall remain anonymous, but for the sake of argument let's call him "kellyaris"  This is a player who enters a group to play a round, then ends up in the fringe after 3 on the first hole.  He promptly disconnects.  He comes into the round with a sub-70 average, and leaves when that average is threatened by his own play.  Or the other type of quitter who will join a group then leave at the 10th tee by claiming that he/she didn't know it was a full 18 hole ranked round.  "macduff10" I'm looking in your direction.

These are typically players with very low average scores, and they don't want to endanger them with an average round.  I realize that things happen:  you get called in to work, your house catches fire, your wife and girlfriend tell you at the same time that they're pregnant, I get it, things happen.  But after a certain number of withdrawals during the course of a month something should be done.  Add strokes to their average, suspend them, whatever.  I do know that it's getting tiresome to have a group playing an enjoyable round when someone quits because their artificial average is in danger of increasing.  I enjoy playing here, and would like to see some sanctions placed on those who enter and withdraw from rounds when they might possibly shoot par.  It sure seems like that would put an end to that kind of behavior, and produce more reliable scoring averages.

If I end up in mulch or some other lie that has a ridiculously stupid number of shots to move the ball 15 cm, I'll quit a round, because it isn't ralistic to take 11 shots to move a ball half the length of the club when a four year old could have hit it out with a plastic club from a $2 shop.

other than that I see no need to quit a round.

    Hey all,

I'm new to WGT but not to golf. This is the most realistic internet golf I've played. There are folks out there on all of our courses who don't turn in their worst scores. For what? Bragging rights for people they don't play with? Who are they hurting? Themselves.

They wind up competing in the wrong tier, or in the real world, with a handicap below what they should be. Then they just contribute to the payout in the end.

Let them cheat themselves. At least they aren't padding their scores like so many on the course! Tournament  leaderboards are the ones that count!

    • I agree, this is why I just play match play. Only thing is, match play doesn't count against your score like stroke. I think there should be a penalty to quitting a round early in stroke, or a per month grace of quits before the penalty in the case of a real disconnect should happen.
    • And also, the 70's porno music on the screen has become addicting and I find myself being hypnotized by it. Does WGT put subliminal messages in their music to get you to play? I am a zombie to WGT!! Mhmmm Brainssss, must buy balls and master clubs mhmmmmmmmmm

i also dont like quitters, but I only play games with people. Iv'e had my fair share of playing with quitters, but would rather not finnish my round alone. Does that have to hurt my credibility if I quit after Im quitted on ?
