I'd like to see the default behavior for all putting set to 'hide' the flag.

It appears that the flag does not affect putts, but it would seem to follow more naturally the rules of a real game to show the flag for all shots off the green, and NOT show it for all putts. The option to turn it back on for long putts should be left in place, but I would prefer the default behavior for putts to start it in the 'hidden' mode.

Disagree with this suggestion. Or, it should be a user-selectable option. (Everyone could choose his/her preferred default.)

I've played quite a few rounds where my opponents chose to pull the flag during putts, and it made following the path of their putts much more difficult, especially in overhead camera shots.

It is a user selectable option, and I suggested that it stay that way. I am merely asking for the default to be 'no flag', as I'm willing to bet that most people hide the flag on each and every putt. it has nothing to do with replays, just user preference when putting or aligning a putt.

Perhaps it would be better to have this listed in personal game options along with reflections, camera pans, etc.  My preference is leaving it in and most of the people I play with (a few are WGT's top players) leave the flag in on the green more often than not.

That said, I do pull the flag from off the green almost every shot inside 50 yds where it could have an adverse effect.

    Hi Jakestanfill7,

This was suggested for putts only, and I thought that appropriate as the flag is required to be pulled when on the green in real golf - but agree that a user specific option for this would be an acceptable option. If that is the case, I'd then like to see an option for putts and a separate option for all other shots.

And that's the bad idea. Leave this to be a user-selectable option: the default setting. Person A might choose no flag to be the default, and person B might choose leave flag as the default. As I said, it's often very difficult to follow your opponent's putts if the flag isn't in its place.

I'm convinced that the opposite is the case.

A users preference should have no bearing on what you see - it should be specific to each user. Unfortunately it is set the same for all users right now, which is part of the issue. Meaning that if I pull the flag for my putt, that view is the same for everyone in the game. This is a different issue, though. My money is on most people pulling the flag for putts, and the default making more sense as 'hidden'.

No, it doesn't make sense to enforce "hidden" as the default, because it decreases the visibility of your putts for your opponents. No such personal preferences should be enforced for everyone. As the other poster said above, this might be among Game Settings: Leave Flag or Pull Flag as the default setting for a user's putts.

It also makes no sense to enforce 'not-hidden' as the default for the same reason, for those others that prefer not to see the flag. I guess it all comes down to what the majority prefers, and only WGT has the power to solicit that type of feedback.

If you can't see the hole when viewing someone elses putts, it might be more politically correct to invest in bi-focals than to impose your preferences on their shot.

As in real golf, the flag should remain in the hole until all golfers are on the green, or the player up removes it for an approach shot. I prefer the flag in the hole at all times. it does not affect the putt so I can choose to pull it or not. It should reamin the players choice to pull it when addressing his/her putt.
