Summit Series - Official Rules & Guidelines

1. Introduction

Welcome to the Summit Series! This tournament series is designed to provide a fair and exciting competitive environment. By participating, you agree to adhere to the rules outlined below.

2. Tournament Overview

Tournament Date(s): Summit Series
Tournament Mode/Format: Round 1: ~2 weeks of unlimited top 50 + ties move onto the second round. Round 2: 6 days of a 3 round single play tournament
Prizing: Round 1: 10k credits. Round 2: 10k credits

3. Rules & Code of Conduct

Eligibility

Players must have a valid account on WGT to participate.
All participants must agree to abide by the WGT’s rules and code of conduct.

General Conduct

Players must treat all participants, organizers, and staff with respect. Toxic behavior, harassment, or unsportsmanlike conduct will result in disqualification.

Players must use their registered account during the tournament and are responsible for keeping their accounts in good standing.

4. Tournament Format

Match Structure

Round 1: Unlimited
- Top 50 plus ties move onto round 2
Round 2: 3 round single play

5. Prizing

Prize Pool

Round 1: 10k WGT credits
Round 2: 10k WGT credits paid out to top 10

6. Points

Point Structure

Round 1:
- 1st-10th receive 2 points
- 11th-50th (plus ties) receive 1 point
Round 2:
- 1st place receives 3 points & automatically qualifies for finale
- 2nd-10th receive 2 points
- 11th+ receive 1 point

7. Finale

How to qualify for the finale

Winning a tournament automatically qualifies you for the finale and a bye in round 1 of the finale
Be top 50 in points throughout the season
Last chance qualifier tournament. Top 3 qualify for the finale

Finale Format

3 round finale tournament.
- Top 50 (plus ties)
- Top 25
- Top 10
If you won a tournament throughout the season you get an automatic bye in round 1 of the finale
If you are top 5 in points from the season you get an automatic bye in round 1
Round 1: Top 50 plus ties in points from the season qualify for round 1
The 3 courses used will be voted/selected by those that qualify
- Those that qualify will vote via a google form towards the end of November
Round 1 2 round Single Play: December 1 (Monday) - December 7 (Sunday)
Round 2 2 round Single Play: December 8 (Monday) - December 14 (Sunday)
Round 3 2 round Single Play: December 15 (Monday) - December 21 (Sunday)

Finale Prizing

Still TBD, but for sure a large amount of credits

8. Miscellaneous/FAQ

If I already win a tournament, can I win another?
- Yes absolutely!
Why are the points earned so low?
- In years past with these season long point structures, there was almost always a large gap and made the actual season overall less engaging
