bazkitcase5: I'm not much familiar with using the punch shot for wedge and lower iron approaches, so I was wondering, do punch shots stop just as predictably as full shots when approaching the green, or do you need to allow more room for roll?
Spin controls a punch quite well-experiment. Wind affects them less and they're great gap fillers. Lower wedge punch trajectories are not a factor-trust the distance. Longer irons need that roll out consideration. Punching out of rough works well too, especially 40-50 and higher.
I got a tip from over 2 years ago from a long time great player, past winner of the British Open. He once said that his 64W punch was the most valuable shot he had in his bag. Been doing like George Foreman ever since. :-)
