I know what you are saying but I fail to see how this would actually improve the play.
For example in real life I own both a 1 and 2 iron. I will drop my driver if my driving is off and either use my 1r or 3W from the tee. On the longer courses where I make this sacrifice of distance, I drop a 3-4 i for the 2i
In this game all clubs are essentially the same to hit, depending on the meter speed - dropping a 3-4 iron for a 7W will produce the same result.
In this game a driver or 3W is pretty much the same meter speed, so there would be no need to swap out.
The only occasion it would be a real benefit is if you wanted 4 wedges in place of an iron.
As for R-L spin - NO - way to easy if you are trying to replicate a draw/fade. Yes I would like that but this would take a major change (stance etc)
