Make a custom set of clubs where we can swap out some irons and equip an extra wedge or hybrid.Say let me switch out my 3Iron for a hybrid

Or what about just offering a set of clubs with a hybrid instead of a 3 iron?  C

    Brilliant Cleworthy!

If its too complicated to change the programming to switch out a 3 iron (or any other iron for that matter) at the players' option, why can't WGT just switch out 3 irons in the sets they sell - for same brand/level hybrid and if need be, charge a small premium for that 'iron set'. Duh. I hate having to choose to eliminate hybrid for a 3rd wedge. In fact at higher levels of play, a hybrid in the set (and no 3 iron) would allow the choice of not carrying a 3wd, and adding a fourth wedge.

I would probably go with the latter setup if it were an option. When you need a hybrid for a specific shot, neither a 3 wood nor a 3 iron is the right club. In real life, nobody carries a 3 iron any more!! In fact a lot of folks do not carry a 4 iron either - I carry a 7 wood for example, a hybrid/3 and 3 wedges.

I sometimes drop my 3 wood to pick up an extra wedge on certain courses. It's a shame that you have done so much to improve this game and not offered us a choice on building our own bags.

If we keep to the PGA rules here on clubs--you would certainly see the profit potential of either selling us a custom set with a 7 wood replacing the 3-4 irons OR having it set up so the players can choose what goes in our bags.

While I'm venting --I would love to see sidespin ( R--L )  added to the ball options  ..  Makes too much sense huh?

Been asked for many times and WGT always reply that they won't be splitting the iron sets.

    @Danowadd

I know what you are saying but I fail to see how this would actually improve the play.

For example in real life I own both a 1 and 2 iron. I will drop my driver if my driving is off and either use my 1r or 3W from the tee. On the longer courses where I make this sacrifice of distance, I drop a 3-4 i for the 2i

In this game all clubs are essentially the same to hit, depending on the meter speed - dropping  a 3-4 iron for a 7W will produce the same result.

In this game a driver or 3W is pretty much the same meter speed, so there would be no need to swap out.

The only occasion it would be a real benefit is if you wanted 4 wedges in place of an iron.

As for R-L spin - NO - way to easy if you are trying to replicate a draw/fade. Yes I would like that but this would take a major change (stance etc)

How major a change would it be really?  You're forgetting they originally had stance changes in the game.  And WGT said back in 2008 "We will be slowly introducing more shot shaping controls in the future."

True to their word its been very, very, slow.  Other than reserving a spot for shot shaping in club specs, there has been nada, zilch, zip.  Close to 6 years now.

    Courteney said it right.

This is an old mine thread, no answer only a one and half year ago idea.

I've always thought about this myself.  Wishing I could swap out my PW for a upgraded 56*, instead of being forced to upgrade the entire 9 iron set.

Well it would seem WGT geeks went out of their way to introduce  the  uneven lies .

L-R spin should be a piece of cake.

Way back before WGT-- the video games of Tiger Woods 2002--2007 offered  not only

T-C-B spin  but  top LR  -- center LR  and bottom LR . This gave the player tremendous control in wind play and shot- shaping. You had the option of putting the dot anywhere you chose!  All this was done without any major stance changes also.

This being a real Beta format and not offering this option while implementing  the uneven lies is not kicking a dead horse--it's yet another call that should be given serious consideration.

I think we will see these changes in spin--as soon as WGT figures a way to Charge us for it!
