So you think it's right that players manipulate the system in order to give themselves an advantage and then subsequently use that advantage to unfairly win credits?

These people are cowards, dishonest ones at that and they should be named and shamed on these forums.

Before getting pitchforks and fire to burn at stake, I don't know the guy, but  it doesnt look as though he has taken any $$ from anyone, just here to play for fun.

The guy has obviously spent a lot of his own $$ in clubs and balls to reach lvl 92 and play at his scoring level.  He doesn't abuse the system or others for credits. He has a good idea what it will be like the learning curve from legend tees and for now enjoying the tee's he is on.

As long as not taking $$ from anyone, doesn't matter if he is amatuer,  pro or master, live and let live.

If you're a legend and  play him, take it as a challenge. You both know  he'll be starting with big yardage advantage. If you overcome it and win, will be a very sweet victory. If you lose, then "meh" its just a stat, try him again another time.

This player does not play for credits!

I don't even know who this player is, nor do I care. If he doesn't play for credits then he's in a very small minority of sandbaggers. My comments are for sandbaggers in general not at any one specific person.

What kind of person gets pleasure from beating other players because they deliberately avoid being promoted through the tiers? A coward and a cheat.

If they are prepared to be dishonest to themselves, it certainly isn't a stretch of the imagination to see they could be tempted to win credits this way either.......

Where do you draw the line Don? Is it ok for someone doing this to win the free weekly tournaments? I say that would be denying those of lesser ability or experience a chance to win some credits from those of a similar standard.

This issue is about integrity and ethics. I know this ain't real golf, I would hope it would be played by the majority of players with the same ethics and integrity that makes real golf a cut above all sports in this matter.

Many players are here for the fun and don't care about tiering up or about the competitions/tourneys. They enjoy the social part of the game and prefer to play with friends they made here and don't like to play alone. No one can blame them, that's very fine. They are not doing anything wrong.

If one doesn't play much ranked round and plays instead a lot of alt shot and match play (for free) I don't see the problem. Those players will stay at a low tier for a long time (even forever) and will level up.

However some players try to get benefit from that. They are players which are very good and stay deliberately at a lower tier to gain some benefits (credits). This is what they are talking about in this thread.

The main problem is not those players, is the loophole in the system. I mean indeed, in an ideal world everyone should be fair and honest. Unfortunately we do not live in such a world. If there is some loophole, some will try to get benefits from that, it's like this. If you let everyday you car open with the key on, don't be surprise if one day someone goes away with your car.

Many possible solutions have been discussed at length on this forum. One of them would be to take all earnings into account as a variable for promotion and tiering up. Like this those who just play alt shot and free match play can stay to the tier they want (they are not doing anything wrong) but those who benefits from that situation by earning/stealing credits would be quickly promoted.

    Regards
