I'm considering an upgrade (upgrades) in clubs sometime in the near future, when my level allows it. However, I'm noticing the following things about my game:
1) I've been here for a long time (since May 2009), and by and large, my game seems to go in waves. That 64 "average" is fairly accurate, and I rarely shoot below 64 or 32 as it stands. My usual 9 hole round is about 33, actually, and I'd say its 67/68, maybe as high as 70 at times for 18holes.
2) AS is the case with most people, the easiest place for me to pick up strokes is on the green.
Sooo.................with my current set-up being a 275 Driver, G10's, and a 105/85/60 Wedge setup, plus a Ghost putter, I'm wondering which of the following options would make the most sense:
A) Switch to Lvl 79 Irons at that level, and then add the L88 Driver when I get there (so progressively adding quality to the bag). I should also note that I usually use Callys, but would likely switch to a Nike in this option.
B) Use my current set-up & Callys until I'm about L88, then grab all that stuff at once, and basically do 1 big overhaul. I'd likely keep the Ghost putter and my current wedges b/c they seem to do the trick just fine.
C) Keep all of my clubs for the forseeable future, and simply switch to a Nike ball. I get that the Nikes are expensive, but I seem to shoot very well with them, and it'd possibly be a cheaper way to keep my scores lower over the long haul.
Any thoughts from folks who have tried one or more of these routes??
Thanks!!
