Hello everyone,
First, of course, is this week's winners. Congratulations to Uzumaki72, StarBlue, quinn741 / dustymiller / gotboxers, and Cutigersteve / AvatarLee / tibbets / rogerdade / dud_doodle / Kobalt46 / Caven / jakestanfill7 in the 9-Hole Unlimited; boobaloob, jimgriff / lpanema, and ironking34 in the 9-Hole Single; yortman / mounster, Hammer1148, and tibbets in the 18-Hole Single; nivlac in the Free Multiround; and thevig, Antonio4506, Mem11, and tibbets in the CTTH Challenge.
To recap: tibbets has an incredible week, with a spectacular three wins in the Master tier. nivlac won his second consecutive Free Multiround, a feat that will be tough to be equal as the year progresses. Congratulations to ironking34 on winning his first stroke play tournament alone, shooting the only sub-30 round in the 9 Single. AvatarLee took home a title and a second-place finish.
Every 8 weeks, the Top 100 will be posted, to show who is nearing the Top 30 and a coveted spot in the Championship. Every 6 weeks, the Top 10 from each country will be displayed for those countries that have at least 10 players on the rankings.
As for the Week 2 Rankings: tibbets increased his #1 lead over fellow American rogerdade, while the pair collectively pulled away from the rest of the world. tibbets and rogerdade are beginning to look like Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in tennis: the two guys that are way ahead of everyone else. The race is now on for World #3, with nivlac edging closer to Stryker37 for that spot, and British #1 iwb1 following behind. The biggest change in the Top 10 was jakestanfill7 winning the 9 Single and jumping three spots to #6, pushing Canadian #1 AvatarLee and two other non-Americans down one spot. However, no players entered or left the Top 10 or Top 20 this week. Caven made a three-spot jump, and pricehcs and donsprintr each moved up one spot, shifting a few players downward, most notably craiger85 and claremoreblue down 3 spots. cyl6 shot up 18 spots to squeeze his way into the Top 30 after two weeks of the 2010 season, tied with JulioMoot and thunderbird, elite players who each moved down three spots, and MacGillicuddy, who made a strong ten-spot jump up. timpyron1980, rainman692, and xwordmark all moved up at least 3 spots within the Top 30, at the expense of JALAII, jasondement, and molideha.
We will expect some more spots lost for molideha, who has announced he will be taking a break from WGT. He did say he will return, but there is no timetable as to when this might occur. "sometimes you gotta walk away and take time to smell the flowers", molideha said. "... like a cow that needs to move on and graze a different pasture ... never good to over graze, depletes the soil and only encourages the weeds to proliferate." He will be missed by the WGT and WGT Ladder System communities for all of the help he has provided.
