It doesn't happen as often as in Multiplay, and there's no waiting period there anyways, but in Matchplay, when someone disconnects for whatever reason, we're given 5 minutes to wait for our opponent to reconnect. This might not seem too long, but just try it sometime.
Wondering away from the computer is a possibility, to make a sandwich, or freshen a drink, or one could open-up another window, and search the forums, but these things take you away from the game window. If the player comes back, will you then even notice? I guess there's a "dingtone" that has to be turned-on that you might hear...
Would it be hard to include the scorecard on the "waiting lobby" screen? At least that would give us something to do, and perusing our current stat's would keep us more "involved" in the game. Maybe it would even be possible to post the "replays of the week" there. Could probably watch one or two of them by the time the player reconnects, if he/she is going to, at all.
They then can ring a bell, or whatever, to let you know they've entered the room.
Thanks for reading.
