I upgraded today to the taylor made ghost putter, and frankly, i lost around 2 to 3 shots on a 9 hole because of distance. it seems like it is way off unless i am mistaking.

Is there a distance issue with this putter? when i was using the Spider putter L19 i was very accurate when it came to distance, but with this new putter it seems like i am way off, i always under shoot.

Your new putter has an extra scale so the first scale is not what you are used to-it only goes 15 feet. If you are trusting what the caddie says to use you will be in all sorts of trouble. Look at the new scale values on your putter- you had 25  50  100 150 and 300.  Your new one has  15   25  50  100  150  300.

Hi yankee, thanks for the feedback, i have been taking into consideration the 15ft scale, i usually switch it the 25ft scale as i am more used to it, but it is still driving me insane. I mean, i started adding a few more % (I use the putter helper) and yet I fall short.

Any clue, cos i bought it for 800cc, and it would a shame to sell it at loss!

    thanks again

Don't give up too quick. You didn't buy putts with it, you bought a putter that is way better than what you had. That putter helper is a good thing because it will let you hit the exact same way every time, you just need to dial in the new distances. It will be worth the effort, I promise.

This is what you do-set up a practice round with your conditions and head out to BPB front 9. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th holes there all have big, flat greens. Get on the green and putt back and forth, noting what those marks on your putter helper get you on every scale. You get 10 strokes a hole and if it takes you 2 to get on you get 8 putts. In those 3 holes you can get 24 different readings. Try to ding every putt so the distance will be accurate. If you ding one and miss 2, average them. After a while it will be very easy to know what you have to do to get a certain distance. By all means, forget what you're used to with your old putter and focus on this one. Be patient with it because it's very different than what you're used to. You won't be sorry.

Once you get comfortable knowing how hard to hit it you can start experimenting with the larger scales on shorter putts. For instance, try the 50 foot scale for a 12 foot putt. The backswing will be much shorter and that makes dinging it easier. You got a decent putter so do some work with it and those putts will start dropping. You can do it.  GL  :-)

And for me anyway the Spider ghost works better with a female avatar.

Heh, I should try the female avatar too, at least I will have a reason to hold that purse when putting :)

I bought the same and I really really like it. It took two holes to realize the 15' scale, then it was only three holes later before putting 1-2 putts per hole, where as with the starter I was averaging 2-4 putts, I've owned it for about 1 &1/2 months now and after that first game I don't think I've missed a putt under 10'. 1/2 " on the meter will cover every thing under 1',    1 1/2" on the meter is 3', 1/3rd  of the meter scale is 5', 1/2 of the scale is 61/2 to 71/2'.

This putter works well for me, what I like about this putter the most is the long putts, over15 or so yards, especially the 65 footers, when needed I can pretty much bank on resting within a foot or two of the hole, stay with it and reap the rewards it has to offer, and never forget, bad shots are never going to be the fault of a virtual club, (they don't crack, bend, break, or ever wear out, it,s always 100% OPERATOR ERROR !  So when you draw back that swing make sure that you are prepared with all the information that you can possibly gather to make those consistently perfect putts. HAPPY PUTTING YA'LL

(glad ya got ta read me)
