Total Bull$hit, and yes I am writing the frustrated.  Playing a 18 hole unlimited tournie at -4 at the turn. Game is running pretty smooth for the first 9. 10 th tee box, the meter freezes up while hitting and ball goes 30 yards into what looks like brush to me.  LOST BALL  one stroke penalty .  I hit plenty of balls in the brush in real life , and am able to find most of them . Why is this a lost ball in that area WGT ? I can understand the 20 or so I have contributed to the lake on 17 at KI but that area to lose one is BS. I realize they are 1.28 or so a sleeve , yes I was playing the pricey balls, but this is adding up.

How bout a buy 10 sleeve get one free option or something to help offset the bs loss of balls ?   Or maybe once someone spends a certain amount , throw them a sleeve of balls ?

Before someone jumps on here saying " well just use the free golf balls "  go ahead and gear up with those and invite me for a game. I would luv to see how well someone can play with those from the tips and compete. Maybe I'm missing something.

And no, I didn't finish the round. Figured a golf ball was cheaper than a new mouse. My living room wall has already felt one of those  :)

I play with the free balls.

    I think I do okay.   :)

Personally, I think the golf balls are a waste of credits, unless you have credits to burn.

YOUR 100% CORRECT. I AGREE BS INTO WEEDS LOST. INTO A DRY DITCH (#2 KIAWAH)) LOST BALL BS IN A R E A L GAME YOU'D RETREVE IT AND TAKE A PENALTY STROKE BUT LOST BALL NEVER. EXCEPT FOR IN THE WATER, IT SHOULD NEVER BE A LOST BALL. WGT IS RIPPING US OFF. AND I;M DAMN TIRED OF IT TOO IVE COMPLAINED BEFORE .

Here's what happened, I think.  Once upon a time WGT only offered free starter balls, and no others.  Other than costing a stroke and a bunch of distance a lost ball was not a big deal.  Then came the advent of better balls that cost real money.  Now, when we lose those it is a bit painful, because in real life we can generally find our expensive Pro V1, sometimes at the expense of the golfers behind us.  So now, the lost ball in WGT does not sit well with us.  I'm thinking this is a tweak that WGT will probably work on.  Forever refining...

    Agreed it needs tweaking.

Perhaps instead of losing the ball when it goes OB, reduce the ball's current durability by 25% instead of losing the ball outright.

In other words, if you have, say 50% left on a ball, and hit that ball OB.   You wouldn't lose the ball, but the durability level on the ball would drop to 25% left.

Pardon me, but Lost Ball means it's lost. If you have ever played real golf, you can loose a ball in places other than water.

By the way, if the swing meter ever hangs or stutters, don't press the mouse button. Let it finish the swing and it will be ruled as a practice. No stroke will be added to your score.

I think Marioh's idea is a great idea and would help to bring the "realism" back into the lost ball issue.

First time out of bounds, balls drops 33% durability. Next time another 33% and three strikes your out, you lose the ball. I know when I go into the woods I might find about 1 in 3 maybe 1 in 4.

This is only FAIR since people are paying real money for these balls.

Obviously in the lake is in the lake. For this reason, I would like to see an option to switch out a ball before a shot, you come up to a lake just like in real golf you pull out your crappy balls, at least I do and I would like to see that option here.

I just watched my ball on the 4th Kiawah slowly trickle into the ditch in the centre of the fairway . It only just crept there  but .......yep  up came the sign  'lost ball'   meaning having to tee off again and ruin what turned out to be a decent score.  I can understand if its lost in water or very deep rough  but that ditch is not that much overgrown  lol.

Oh well  I am gonna attach string to em now , so I can pull em out of any bad situation.

And why does it always seem to happen when you have just used up one ball and the one you lose is virtually (and i mean virtual) new. (only two shots played with it  lol.

Is there a bargain counter in the pro shop for lake balls/found balls  etc  ?

I really don't mind if they have the odd scuff on them . It will slow em down on the very fast greens  and perhaps help with any break!!

    Happy Golfin'
