This game has allowed me absolutely no fairness or success at all so far. Does anyone know why that could be ? I try everything new clubs, better balls.. and I get messed with on every shot. Backspin does not work. re aiming does not work.. no matter what I try the game seams to cheat me on every shot. For example so far I have only made about a 13 ft. putt..

Could it be because I have not spent any money on line yet.

In the famous words of Tom Watson or Moe Norman, when asked "How did you get so good?" their reply "I hit a hell of alot of balls."

I agree. Putting is a huge mystery. Tutorials give little or no advice. I have only been playing less than a week but the other online games for golf at least give you close to a chance. I am not looking to become a professional golfer and hit 1,000 balls a day. Playing due to the great graphics but at least make it fair. I won't spend any money either until fairness improves. My first bit of advice to you would ''Get rid of those ezswing clubs and re-stock your bag with the starter clubs in your inventory.''

The EZ Swing clubs are no good for man nor beast.

It's frustrating at the start but everyone has been there and it does get better.  I signed up, tried a few rounds, figured this was some sort of torture site and didn't bother signing in again for a few weeks.  Then one day I thought I'd give it another go and I've been hooked ever since.

The low level gear and balls aren't going to let you fire a ball at the flag and stop quickly, you need expensive gear to do that.  Sorry, but that's the way it is.  You can do surveys to earn credits and some of the offers of credits when you buy online goods are pretty sweet.  Or there's good old PayPal, just try to stop yourself buying every new club you unlock, it's very tempting when you think there's something that's going to magically improve your game.  About 90% of the gear you can buy won't do that, one thing that will help you a lot is a 64° wedge.

Early on you'll find St. Andrews and Kiawah the easiest to play.  Just be sure to play all the courses as you progress, you'll regret it one day if you don't and find yourself having to play Oakmont with very little experience of it.

Read the forums when you have time, there is a huge amount of help and info here.  A lot of crap as well but you'll soon learn what's worth reading and what isn't.  Don't be afraid to ask something that you haven't been able to find an answer to, most people here will give you honest and real help.

    And finally, have fun.

See, this is pure gold.  Do this immediately.

Also, pick a time when you can normally play and play one round every day. 9 holes, 18, whatever.  This is because a) it's practice but also b) in a VERY few short days you will be maxed out on your consecutive days experience number and your levels will shoot up fast.

Below about level 35 or so (don't quote me) you can almost gain a level (or more) per day simply from playing an 18 hole round every day. This is because the multi-day xp is 880, 18-holes is 200, often early on you are getting little awards for xp, and a lot of just 'hitting the ball' xp. This racks up FAST.

I'm level 41 now, and simply by doing that I am still earning a level about every day and a half - and this is on weeknights after a full-time job!

In fact I have found that I have "wasted" money on some of my clubs not because they weren't any good (they are!), but because I out-leveled them faster than I expected and was up into even better clubs.

    :)

No, because you have spent money here; new driver, putter and balls. As everyone else has said, ditch the ez-swing clubs, all of them. You do have in your inventory starter clubs, which are not that bad. I made it to master tier with starter irons and 3-wood, although I did get a few TM satin wedges and a TM Daytona putter that helped alot!!  It's still not an easy game, but very rewarding after much practice, sweat and more than a few tears!

Shay, so far these guys have hit the nail on the head. Keep at it my friend. I am still having the basic problems, and it is mostly me. I get the occasional glitch or the RPM meter, but that happens. The last week or two, I have had a rough time breaking par. Not going to blame it on anything. I have the best equipment and the most expensive balls available on here. If I miss the ding or aim wrong, this expensive equipment doesn't help. And those $4.50 a sleeve balls can't swim either. Just FYI.
