I've had the Tour Starter, original Spider, Anser, Redwood (level 44), and now the Daytona.... none of them will help if you don't put in the effort to understand what the putter can help you with and if it actually fits how you putt. Took me a long time and too many creds to figure that one out.
During the free rentals this past weekend I (and about 75% of everybody who was online here) tried out the new Nike Putters. By the stats it should be excellent, but of the three guys in my usual foursome who tried it - only one of us could even smell the hole with it. Just didn't fit the way I usually putt.
That said, there are Legends who still use the starter putters and guys who like the most precise thing they can find. Most are somewhere in the middle, and if you didn't sell it back I would bet that in two weeks or so that Anser might seem a lot better putter than it does now.
