it is currently 12 degrees outside and i need a golf fix. i found this game and it looked pretty cool, but i am not having much luck here. i 3 putt about every hole and never get on in reg.  i am better @ real golf and i suck. do you have to have upgraded clubs or what is the secret?

looks like you have to buy stuff to get credits to get new clubs, but i would rather buy real clubs rather than virtual equipment. maybe if they had a hawaii golf getaway for cheap i would be interested.

I think my World Gold Tour might be coming to an end.

Better equipment will make the game easier but you'll need to play more to improve on that.  And the problem with playing more around here is you can get addicted to this place. Everyone's expectations are different...only you can decide where you want to go from here.

There are ways to get credits without using your credit card.  If you want to give this place a chance, do yourself  a favor and check out the Getting Started and FAQs over there---->.

There are lots of good guys that are active in the forums that will answer questions.  I'd be happy to play a few friendly games with you...maybe you can teach me a thing or two =)

This game is difficult. That's what makes it good, and keeps people coming back after hundreds or thousands of rounds. IMO, you can do fine with starter clubs up until master tees. You probably won't win tournaments (most, obviously, don't), but you can shoot in the 60s. Set a goal of shooting around par consistently, while you rack up "free" credits, then upgrade later. You've only played a few rounds.... you wouldn't expect a newbie to be good at real golf after a couple hours, would you?

    Hi Chance,

Please don't think about leaving just yet. There are loads of members on here, from Legends down, that will quite readily give you any advice and tips that you want.

To start, here's my 2 cnts worth.

Try giving the ''Get free credits '' site out.  If you watch the video adverts daily with-in a week you will have 75--100 credits for just a few minutes watching a day. Don't redeem them straight away, you can save the points earnt on that site until you have amassed quite a few.

Also try out a couple of surveys. You can earn between 75 and 450 credits a time on those. That is if you qualify first.

Last but by NO means least, Get yourself a couple of decent Wedges. Thats all you need at the moment. Get enough credits together and buy the Z SATIN Wedges, (Level 14). They are quite cheap but about the best you can have at your Level. They cost 110 credits apiece And will make a tremendous difference to your short game.

Any further advice, don't hesitate to look me up.

By the way, one more thing. Try getting into a country club. There are quite a few that are willing to take new members in and you will make a lot of friends only to will to help you out.

Hope this gives you some encouragement to stay.

I saw somewhere that there is a CC for players that have standard clubs.  You may want to check out the CC forum and see if you can find it.  That sounds like a good option for you??

    Hey Chance!

You started playing 3rd january and made Amatuer in 2 weeks. Not bad.

Your stats are pretty good except for Greens in regulation (35%) Work on getting onto the green and don't worry about the distance to the pin. Your putting is good for the experience level.

If you can afford it try some G13-D balls for 99cents a sheath. This will give you the extra yardage you want and will make it easier to land on the green.

With approach shots use the best distance that will keep you between 90 and 100% of the club be it a full shot or punch or whatever. Like in real golf put the marker where you want so you allow for the break of the green and use percentages of power.

    Hope this helps.

I notice you like playing Oak... I class that to be one of the hardest courses on here. Try some of the easier courses to try and get your confidence back

I reached Tour Pro level and had an average of 72 with standard clubs. What helped me most to improve my score was reading the putting tips here.

Not so long ago, in a match play, I did par on every hole but was beaten by a Master who played with a beginners set of clubs.
