We are now taking applications for memberships for another new season at Golfseeker.
The new season (6th) kicks off on 31st January 2011
In the new season the following comps will take place

(2) GS Cup (Stableford 3/4 hcap format best 9 of 12 ) (WEEKLY)
(3) GS Shield (Stableford (7/8th hcap) scoring Best 9 of 12) (WEEKLY)
(4) GS Medal League (Strokeplay full Handicapped Best 10 of 12) (WEEKLY)
(5) Putting League ( GS CC Based - series of 24 matches) (WEEKLY)
(6) GS Trophy League (Handicapped CC Based best 10 of 12) (WEEKLY)
(7) GS Plaque ( Handicapped CC based best 10 of 12) (WEEKLY)
(8 Alt Shot Team League) (a series of Home and away pre/handicapped events) (WEEKLY)
(9) Team Combo ( A mixture of Matchplay and Alt Shot for pairs (non Hcp) (2 per season)
(10) GS Combined Singles Slalom ( Mix of hcap strokeplay & non hcapped Matchplay) ( 1 off in season)

In addition to the WEEKLY comps above we also include up to 20 other one off comps per week - many with prize payouts and FREE to enter (CC based)
Yes..unlike others we run multiple events EVERY week. So you can play up to 37 weekly comps. You can pick all or some. We understand that not everyone has the time to dedicate themselves to play in all, however, we do ask that the ones you do play you continue to do so to complete the requirements of a particular comp (example: best 9 of 12 would require a minimum of 9 games in 12 weeks)
Golfseeker is a little different to what you normally see in non WGT community run events. Why? We use a "official" PGA handicapping software system to make sure everyone has an equal opportunity of success. We provide tools for a one click scorecard saving process without the need for re-sizing and direct upload to the GS forum. You have access to complete hole by hole scoring analysis along with game by game handicap adjustments ensuring that you are playing to your correct ability.
We do not suffer from quitters, simply because they are penalized in handicap should they occur. (effectively giving them a disadvantage in future matches)
We have various communication channels used to arrange matches between players. Mainly using skype as the most efficient tool.
We offer players the chance to win REAL cash prizes along with other comps that bring in WGT merchandise. ALL free to enter and play.
A word of warning.... We conduct a strict policy of "activity" and you are expected to become an active member of both CC and GS events. Skype is also a must have requirement. Failure to remain "active", will result in removal from both CC and GS site activities. Over 700 applications have been requested in the past and many were unsuccessful. Others have been removed through inactivity. So before you take the plunge make sure you wish to remain active. You will need to have been a WGT member for a minimum of 3 months and have a history of at least 20 ranked games.

How do you get involved? Complete the application
How do I get a handicap? We will issue you with your starting Handicap
Can I play in selected comps? Yes, the only requirement is you remain active throughout the 'selected' comp/s
Do I need to leave my current CC ? Unfortunately yes, as WGT only allows one CC per player
Why can't I remain in my current CC and join GS ? We offer REAL cash prizes and other WGT merchandise in some comps and it is GS policy that only GS members can win any prizes offered.
Can I play other non WGT community run comps outside of GS? Of course, you can play whatever you wish in other non GS events. All we ask is that you complete what you set out in GS as well.
How are the handicaps worked out? Handicaps are determined by your previous scoring history along with other formulas applied to create an accurate assessment. Handicaps are subject to adjustment on a game by game basis and are applied accordingly.
What about Disconnections? We have a complete and thorough instructional sheet for the event of disconnections
Do I need to save my scorecard in all comps? Scorecard saving is now a breeze. We supply you with the necessary tool for a one click operation. Scorecards are only required in specific comps and are stated where needed
Are there ANY charges in GS ? NO.There are no charges for competitions in golfseeker . Side betting between players is not under the control of golfseeker and golfseeker accepts no responsibility for players wagering against each other.
Am I expected to learn it all by myself ? No not at all. We have active members willing to assist all newcomers in the way golfseeker operates in comps.

There is NO need to adjust latency, infinity, or to use gamebooster The problem lies in WGT programming ( Actionscript- many errors - Javascript if used to excess OR/AND incorrectly will lead to massive CPU hogging causing stutter) There is no need for adjustments to your own computer settings. No specialist software to install. How do I know this? I too was suffering up to 30% of meter issues per round. I was at a stage of completely abandoning WGT as a result of the meter problems. I then decided to investigate deeply into the WGT actionscript programming and the way it is applied to the final application and quickly realised where the problem lay. I applied my findings and eliminated the problem. Since then many GS members from all over the world were tested with this remedy. and it has achieved 100% success. No more worries about meter issues for GS members. For those looking for a "cheat" You will be disappointed. This is not a cheat program. It is a simple solution tweaking a certain browsers settings and applying them correctly. I am able to talk GS members through the various needed adjustments using our communication channels in skype.
