Those look incredible. However, for me, the only downside is that I putter up much of the time so that if I'm say, 22 feet away, I'll use the 100 putter. I do this because I'm still using the standard balls and by only using the first 25% of the meter, it's slower and easier to stop where I want either early or late past the ding line.

That's been working for me anyway. I saw that tip on another thread and it's helped me out a lot. I use another ruler that I've custom made with 10 equal measurements so for a 100 foot putter, each line that says 1, 2, 3, etc, is 10 feet. It's worked for me like I said.

Setup of the ruler worked just fine. Got it all calibrated and positioned. Problem is, when I click to begin the putt, the ruler automatically minimizes and goes away. What can I do to make it stay on top??

    Thanks!

It's really the only downside to this ruler. I never play on full screen, I use the popup screen that first comes on when you click play now. In this way, there's a space below the screen. I move mine, after lining it up, just below the popup, as high as I can without it hiding the numbers. This way, you only have to look down about an inch or less below your actual meter. It makes it to where you're usually within a pixel if not right on to where you want. That's why I said that the line on the ruler can be moved so you know where you need to stop.

There is another positive in all of this. Once you line up the ruler where you want it, it will always stay in the exact spot on the screen that you need as long as you don't move the golf window and also that you close out the ruler by right clicking the window icon at the bottom of your screen.

Just try to get it as close as possible and remember to use the line that slides back and forth on the ruler. All you have to do to keep the line where you want it is to drag your mouse icon off the bottom of the ruler.

Some people will use other rulers that are directly above the meter, but they don't work with me because I always use the higher distance putters. I do this because of a tip I read on this forum where the further you pull back the meter, the faster it speeds up and is harder for me to stop it where I want either before or after the ding line. This way I only use the bottom third to a quarter of the meter.

The ruler that I use that I describe here allows me to use the longer putters and use the line I described on the ruler to figure out exactly where to stop it. You just have to use a bit of math to figure out exactly on the ruler you need to put the line. This ruler as I've described here has worked wonders for me once you get used to it. I recommend ANY ruler that helps you. I just find this works best for my needs.

Another reason I'd rather have my ruler with the line that I can move over another ruler that has just ten unmarked lines right over the meter is simple for me. With ten unmarked lines, I have to determine where exactly to move it and hope I'm within a pixel of what I need. With my ruler, I just add everything up, move the line on the ruler, and then when I pull back, I just have to get it right on top of the line.

It gets me to within of a pixel or right on top of the line. If I miss it's because either my aim was off, my math calculation of how far to pull back was off, or I stopped it at the wrong place by the ding line and not because of the ruler. Like I said, once you get used to it, you might find it's a really good tool to use.

Thanks. I see what you mean....just position it at the bottom of the screen. I think that will work ok.  Why is the numbering backwards...10 on the right, down to 1 on the left??

For some reason it is. I guess like a regular ruler, the 1 is always on the left and goes up as you go right. Just remember that each number are 10 equal measurements. You just have to figure out how many feet you want to go.

For example, if you use the 100 foot putter and say your 17 feet away, just move the line to 8.25 to get exactly 17.5 feet, 8.25 on the ruler would be 15 feet, etc. Once you're used to looking at it and doing the math, it will come as second nature and the hardest part will be doing the math to get a distance and then figuring where you need to put the line on the ruler as a guide as to where you need to stop the meter on the way back.

This is a simple putter scale you can make the length of your screen meter which has 10 increments and can be used with any putter. To make it more acurate put 20 increments in it.

Each increment is one 10th so a 15ft scale would be 1 1/2 ft per increment so a 9 ft putt would be 6 increments plus a bit extra to make sure it goes past the hole.

    9ft putt on a 20ft scale is 4 1/2 icrements + bit extra (10ft)

9ft putt on a 35ft scale would be just 2 1/2 increments  (9.25) + a bit extra if you want ita bit more

Use your own green speed adjustment 1st

so on a very fast green I would use 9ft divided by 1.2 would gives me 7.5 = 5 increments then I would add a bit extra so I would hit it at 5 1/2 increments which is 8.25 feet on a 15ft scale putter

    Hope you understand it all

ps. I use it for my clubs has well but you need to map the distances for this to work

It says on this website to just press F5 while the ruler window is up to keep it on top, it also has other tips about your ruler. I like the on-screen ruler because the piece of tape on my monitor looked trashy so thx.
