I think he's referring to the occasions when you have the shot all set up, club chosen, direction and power figured out and then for some reason find yourself with a different club to the one you wanted.  It's happened to me a few times but I've only once not noticed before taking the shot.

I think what usually happens is you knock the scroll wheel on your mouse which scrolls through the clubs in your bag.  Easily done but it's also easy to double check before you start your back swing.

Changing scales isn't something I've encountered more than a couple of times.  There are situations on the green where the putter returns to the scale you were originally given.  I might be wrong but I think if you change to a pitch or chip shot to check the break from that view it may happen when you go back to the putter.  As I say though, this may be wrong.  I'm sure there is one scenario where this happens though, just not sure what it is.

The moral is to always check which club you have in your hand or which putter scale you're using before you start to swing.  And be sure the distance and club tally.  I've sometimes had it show a 4 iron but a max distance of 135 or something.  When this happens I always go back to club selection, change to any club, then back to the one I want.

I was on the tee once and found that I was given a putter, many time the clubs change and when you check your selection it will still be blue but a different club is presented to you. Must be very careful with every shot, double check is mandatory.

Cussing and throwing a hissy on the forums doesn't help?

It does seem odd when you have a 15' putt from the fringe and the meter scale defaults to 150'!!

Of course we should always check.  But WGT does normally suggest a club that's vaguely suitable for the shot.  So I guess we are spoilt!

I would like there to be an option in Settings to disable the scroll wheel from switching clubs.

My mouse has a scroll wheel that is very sensitive, and there is no physical click or step when it changes. Every round, a few times it switches just before the shot. A few times I've hit a wedge off the tee because of this.

I understand that this may be an issue that only a few people have, but it can absolutely ruin a hole. And constantly checking for this detracts from the enjoyment of playing the game.

I was in a Blitz game the other day and a player was in his back swing with a putter and all of a sudden it changed to a (either a 3 wood or a driver) just as he made the shot. Talking about a strange shot! LOL

I always check the club and on several occasions WGT changed on me and I hit wedge instead of a long iron.  WGT needs to address this problem before they start losing players.  Sounds like a glitch or virus.
