    Hi All,

I'm Lvl 40 and have enough credits now to buy a full set of clubs. I'm at the Pro tier still using all the starter equip. and looking for a set that will last me for sometime.

From reading the forums I've tentatively decided on the following:

L32 R11 Full Club Set -  The meter speed kind of scares me, have trouble as it is  with  the starter speed...lol. Not sure how much faster it actually is but figure will have to get used to it.

Lvl 38/39 Z Satin 60&64 (maybe 56 too) Wedges -Figured I'd get the 60&64 first, maybe add the 56 later? Meter speed looks even faster..yikes!

Lvl 35 Ghost Spider Putter - this looks like the same speed as the starter. Was also looking at the Lvl 44 Redwood and the Lvl 55 Daytona (would have to wait for both to reach the level), these both look to have the same specs, only the Daytona is a little slower meter speed. The Ghost has the slowest speed, a full ball more of forgiveness and only half ball less on precision.

GI2-S or GI3-S Balls - Not sure how much they slow down the meter per ball, anyone know? At this point I think I need to slow down the meter speed and have some spin over distance.

Well that's it. I would appreciate any opinions from the forum on the selection I have so far and any thoughts, improvements or swaps I could make by you more experienced players.

I'll hold off on purchasing for awhile so I can review any comments before I make the final buy.

Thanks to all for your input. :)

    E.

If you're worried about meter speed, look in to the raptures. Otherwise, personally I'd wait a few days and get the G10 full set at lvl42. That set includes some pretty solid wedges. Putter will always be a matter of personal preference, no two people will like the same putter for the same reasons. Balls are all gonna depend on what you want to spend. The WGT balls are decent. I played the Srixons for a long time and really liked 'em for a moderately priced ball. Good luck with you choices!

I like the g10 l42 set  which you can keep until the lvl 59 g20 set which will take you all the way to Legend tier.

    Hi Elvis,

I don't know how objective my opinion is because I have only limited experience with other clubs, but the K15s have carried me all the way to Legend and I'm still using them.

The slow meter is the most immediately noticeable feature of the K15s, but there's a lot more to them than that. The accuracy of the mid and long irons is very very impressive and even the 3i can stick the green (not uphill and not with a tailwind though).

I've held off on buying new clubs because I've come to know exactly what the K15s can do and how to use them and I don't want to give that up.

My plan is to switch to G20s if I can scrape together enough credits because they're sort of the logical progression from K15s.

I will say that even though they're a little shorter than other clubs, I felt the K15s (combined with a good golf ball) were suitable all the way through Tour Master.

Also, I use the redwood putter because it's the most accurate for the lowest price and my putting stats are pretty good. I think you can outgrow the ghost spider pretty quickly, but then you're married to the ghost line of putters because, otherwise, you'll have to learn a new set of putting increments.

Just my .02, gl no matter what you get.

At your level, G10's all the way baby.  Great clubs.

Thanks for your replies guys. :)

Can you tell me why you like the G10's over the R11 set? I realize the G10's are cheaper and come with a couple of wedges, but other than price.

The meter seems faster on the G10 set and though it has a half ball more precision it's a full ball and a half less in forgiveness. I have trouble hitting the ding as it is on the slower meter, wouldn't the more forgiveness be better?

The K15 set has a slower meter and more forgiveness though its a ball less in precision and spin and the shorter distance, yet that set also seems to be favored.

Now I'm more confused than before..lol...which of the stats should carry more weight? I was under the impression having more forgiveness would help compensate for a faster meter?

    Thanks all for your input

you didn't mention which driver you have  but remember..always easier to ding all your clubs if all clubs have SAME swing meter speed [excluding putter] srixons are agreat ball for price and last much longer than most wgt balls, lvl 35 ghost putter imhi is very good also for the price ,nice forgiveness and pretty good accuracy.

Elvis - I personally used the K15 set - and really liked them.  The transition to the level 58/59 G10 was a little harsh because of the meter but the Srixon balls have helped make that transition work for me.  However, knowing what I know now (with the new G20 set available replacing the upper level G10 set), I would purchase the R11 set and then when you get to level 58 (or maybe it is 59) then you can buy the G20 driver to add a little length to your tee shots without changing the meter speed you will already be used to.  The G20 driver with R11 irons should be good enough to get you to at least Tour Master and possibly legend IMO.

As far as wedges go I am using the level 38/39 TM Satins with great success and will never relinquish my level 39 64degree lob wedge.

I have both the level 35 ghost spider and the level 55 Daytona and prefer the Daytona (even though it is rated for less forgiveness I feel it has a little more).

    Hope this helps your decision.

I would go with what you have now and start using better balls to adjust to the meter with premium balls.  Save your credits and wait until you get to lvl 59 and buy the g20's.  They are a very high pecision and solid set of clubs that took me from pro to master in 6 days.  They will last you till legend tier.  I say to wait for the g20's as they are somewhat pricey.

Putters are really a matter of personal preference.  Rent the ones you like and keep whatever works for you.

Your original post was spot on. Agree with other guys about G10's but your R11's will be a little more forgiving. Putter choice good too. I would always go with 3 wedges though. 50/75 and 100yd - gives you 9+ clubs in 3 when you use punch/flop shots etc. Only change I would make is calloway balls - well worth the extra money - get the spinnier ones!

And that's from someone who used G10's to get to Legend - but I like the forgiveness of the R11's - go for them.

Whatever you do, have fun! :)
