    I'm worried that the little less forgiveness will hurt me to much and i'm struggling enough since my switch from pro and all raptures to master and taylormades.  I'm thinking my mis hits will be magnified even more.

    Without a doubt this was my biggest concern too but it appears to have been needless. I am still playing the way I did with the TMs and the only thing I've noticed is that the wind affects the shots a little more.This would makes sense too because of the higher loft.

    Course strategy is most definitely affected because holes like BPB5 aren't as difficult-the loft gets you over the bunker onto the green without running through so now you can play position in the fairway. The hardest thing about the switch is getting used to the new gaps in the clubs but because of the higher loft mapping the difference is not difficult-the rollout after landing isn't as drastic.

    Question to experienced G10 users-can you reach the green from the end of the fairway at BPB4 in the right wind?

    Not an experienced G10 user, but I've reached the green. The problem is stopping it which I haven't done.

    I've messed around trying to pitch in the rough or bunker and pop out onto the green but tbh I'm certain the average score on the hole would be lower just laying up and nailing a wedge for a birdie putt rather than trying for the eagle and risking playing your third from 60-70 rough at the back of the green, or not getting up and down from in front.

    Tx, g-I've been there with the Taylors too but know it isn't worth it. I was just curious if the higher trajectory would carry that bunker before I get greedy and try myself.. :-D

    I've played way too many rounds at BP, and I only held the green once (from the master tees). I think others (better than me) may do it more often, but for me it's either a) wind is at your back, then you can't hold the green; or b) wind is too fast in your face to get to the end of the fairway. Best I've done is hit a hybrid (225) club into a strong headwind and it caught the rough and trickled onto the green - I was so surprised I missed the relatively easy eagle putt...

    Before I made master I played with someone who was and he has playing the master G10's and knocked it on 4 to the back probably about 8 to 10 feet and made eagle and after I seen that along with the length of his drives I wanted to become master and after I reached the master tier a purchased the TP Taylormades I haven't been able to hold the green.  But I'm guessing the wind was just right too for him.

    BPB dependent on pin placement;

    BPB: #3   4 or 5 iron

    BPB; #8  6 iron or 4 iron

    BPB; #14 8 iron or 6 iron

    BPB; #17 5 iron or 4 iron

    Kiawah Island;

    #5;    5 iron

    #8;     6 iron

    #14: either 4 or 5 iron

    #17:  5 iron

    Really it isn't much information.  There are other factors such as wind direction, and the amount of spin applied.

    I own both master iron sets (G10 and Preferred) and must say I love them both, in conjunction with G13-S balls. I have yet to compare them thoroughly using GI-SD balls, but I venture the guess that again, in all settings, these two sets are solid performers.

    Of course, BolloxinBruges is a better player than I ever will be, but I sincerely wonder if he gave the Taylor Made irons as fair a shake as the G10. True, the G10 (210-115Y) has a wider span than the Preferred (210-122y),but does a 7 yard difference really matter? I think not.

    Oh my!  Another one up from the dead!  But since we're on the topic... The ping irons are a lot better (IMO) because of the precision and the higher trajectory.  It doesn't seem like it on paper, but they stop softer than the TMs.  Oh and yes, when you are trying to fill in gaps, 7 yards makes a huge difference.
