Initially I thought WGT would be a fun and entertaining place for a big of relaxation and challenges.  Instead as it turns out there are a ton of smug, conceeded pompous jerks who think they are so talented that they drop out of games because of a sense of the are WAY TOO GOOD when in fact they are a Pompous A - -.

You need to devise a way to take ratings and or serious points away from those who quit for any other reason  than technical difficulities.

So, to all the smug, conceeded pompous A - - es, the next time you beach a ball, pound a little sand where the sun doesn't shine.

To all other WGT golfers, have a great day!

No disrespect meant but seeing how you've been here since 2010, surely this isn't new to ya bud. I fully understand what you mean and have experienced it many times myself. It's just something we have to deal with like it or not unfortunately. I myself took a little over a year before I finally got to the point where quitters, obnoxious whatevers and unfixed bugs no longer bother me. I gave up hope on any of the above and just play my game and enjoy what I can get out of it  :)   Add me and I'f I'm available, I'll gladly play with ya and never quit on ya (maybe a dc here and there but never a quitter) nor be a pompous, obnoxious jerk  :)

Nice reply and thanks.  In the end all I'm saying is quite simple, play the game for fun which is what I absolutely do.   If if your that serious about not playing lessor talent then take up ping-pong.

I will add to my friends list and thanks again for the reply!

There in lies the rub, how can you differentiate between the two?

MrBinks... it's a shame you're getting the quitter problems. There are a few solutions, though...

    1. Join  WGTLS (World Golf Tour Ladder Site). It's a great website, a lot of fun, and for some the best part of it is this: out of a site of over 2,800 people, about 1% (28) are quitters. Any quitters who are registered are quickly known via the chatroom (Meet & Greet) and avoided by the majority of people. The simple reason is quitters do not benefit at all on the ladder games, they have to post a loss if they disconnect. It seems kinda hectic and confusing at first, but if you stick around and ask for help in Meet & Greet it's very much worth your time.
    2. Take the time to build up your friends list with non-quitters.
    3. Avoid multi-player. I do not recommend this at all.
Baggese, one thing you can do is check their wall for those "DAMN YOU QUITTER" comments. I'm not sure how many times this works, but it could help you in the cases of a few people.

IMO there is no need to differentiate between an intentional disconnect and one due to technical difficulties.  A system could be built where infrequent disconnects are not going to affect the member's "rating".  Frequent disconnects would affect the "rating".

That would allow for the occasional power outage, ISP dropout, and "the cat stepped on the power strip" disconnect.

However, if you have frequent technical difficulties because of a poor ISP or a sick computer you are an unreliable multi-player.  That is the same to me as if you red X out of the game frequently because you hit it in the trees.

Unreliable is unreliable.  We should be able to avoid unreliable players.

Plus, if you could build a system that gives leniency to "technical difficulties" then you are open to abuse from people faking technical problems.  (powering down the cable modem for example)

This also assumes WGT fixes any and all game problems that lock a player up and forces a disconnect. ;>)

lemme see if i can help ya...

for 1 thing.. i check'd yer page ... i see u play mostly BLITz... well .. yes they are funn.. but i have found are mostly play'd by impatient folks.. on a lunch break or sumthing..and if they are not winning will quit.. or ..sum think they are BLITS specialist.. and one bad shot... by by ...

anyway.. yer better off to find or make a frend in stroke play that enjoy's a good 9 hole round,, has an ego that can handle a bogey.. (<rare) but they are out there) .. and play with them.. clean yer frens list and start keepin only ones that DO NOT quit...

a frend and i even have funn with it now... we play everyday... always add a player ... and bet on the side ... how long he will last... usally u can tell by the 2nd hole...lmaoo ..

and its really no biggy... there are thousands on here to play with... if the jerk duz quit AND freez us... o WELL .. few clicks and we start anuther...

all in all... i meet way more cool ppl.. that i do rude.. the precious AVG .. protector's are the worst ..quiter's .. but u can tell who they are ... like i say ..by the 2nd hole ... after ya learn what to look for...

ALT shot also... to me has wayyyyy less quitter's... and most (90%) are chatty and friendly if thats what u like...

it is very funn here... u just gotta find the rite ppl to hang with..

    peace... hit em good ...:)

I can't decide if the thread title is intentional or is a Freudian.
