    I am addicted to this game. Overall, a very good program. Here are my issues:

    1. When a shot is struck "perfectly", it rarely goes where one is aimed, or the total distance. It seems that there is a randomizer that decides how far offline a perfect shot will go. I have had better missed shots than "flushed" ones. Plain and simple...aim, and hit; when done properly, you should get decent results.

    2. Spin...yes, I am well aware that I can buy better balls, but through a set of clubs, the more loft a club has on it, the more spin it can generate. Considering the amount of release these shots have, it seems that the spin has actually reduced in direct correlation to the trajectory of the shot being played.

     3. Shots not from the fairway...it will give a percentage. Sometimes, it reacts as if I hit it from the fairway, sometimes it acts as if it were 3x as bad as what it says. Yes, golf is a game of how good your misses are and some luck, but skill needs to be rewarded, along with situational thinking and recalculation. Keep up the good work and hope to be at the top of the boards soon!

    Hi PG.

    These are actually some very legit concerns.  Here is my 2 cents:

    1.  Lots of talk about this already.   The "effect" isnt too bad right now, but it does seem to be swtiched "on" again even if slightly.   Big thing here is you are using the worst and least accurate possible clubs, these have more deviations than better clubs, I witnessed this myself after upgrading.  If your truly addicted like many of us are and appreciate all the work that went into the game to make it what it is, spending a little to support them and to make your game better shouldnt be an issue.

    Having said that, the sooner they ditch the VEM technology the better.  (spend the resources on making the game harder in other ways like a 3 click meter and a true handicap system)

    2.  Yes here again we have the same scenario.  I agree with you that even with a crappy ball and crappy wedge you should have some spin, but it seems there is barely any there at all no matter what starter club you use with the free balls.  Not much more to say here, not likely they will change this since they need support to continue to bring more courses to the game.  All this goodness that makes the game what it is wasnt cheap to set up and it wont be cheap to keep it going and add improvements etc.

    3.   I am with you here 100%.   The rough seems inconsistent at best.   Sometimes I chip from the rough and the lie effects it, sometimes it doesnt.  Sometimes I pitch from off the green, from the fairway etc and the rough effects it, sometimes it doesnt and my ball goes way too far.  You do get much better with practice and there are little tricks you have to learn like using 75% power most of the time but I do contend there are inconsistencies on certian holes, in certain spots, etc. that would be nice if they were 'addressed'.

    -------------------------------

    No question in my mind skill is rewarded here and thats why I'm still here and will stay, practice pays off no question, I just shot my first 31.   Take a look around at the leader boards, same people all the time, that aint luck.

    I see you've only been here a week or so, stick around, I guarantee you'll keep improving especially if you upgrade even just a little and if you do, dont buy the Raptures, post in the forum for help.

    Happy hitting.

    I have only one concern, a 3 click meter would have to mark what power to be used on each shot and after awhile its all timing and that is an easy thing to master. all you have to do is check out the tiger woods online game    with the meter they have now you do have to guess how much power to use on each shot making it more of a challenge dont change it   the inconsistencies again make the game more interesting if it played the same every way  time after awhile it wouldnt take any skill or luck to play perfect and what fun is that  I really would like to see them "fix" the skip, studder, lag in the meter without having to tweak ones' computer just my opinion

    you're my man rockinroland :)

    with no precision related randomness and a 3-click meter we will get this very soon:

    #include <stdlib.h>
    #include <wmevent.h>

    int main()
    {
        SendEvent(LeftMouseButton_Pressed); /* start swing */
        Delay(760); /* wait 760 msec for full power, change to 710 for 90% shot */
        SendEvent(LeftMouseButton_Pressed); /* confirm power */
        Delay(760); /* wait 760 msec for perfect ding, change to 710 for 90% shot */
        SendEvent(LeftMouseButton_Pressed); /* ding the d**n thing */

        return 0;
    }

    Apparently you guys have missed the point.

    A 3 click meter will be MORE challenging than the way it is now.  If you believe otherwise, wow, not sure how you are playing this game because the current meter is way too damn easy.

    Comparing TWO to this game has NO relevance what so ever, that game is too easy for many other reasons.

    about your listed item 3.  I look at it like this:

    1)  more lofted irons perform better out of the rough, much like real clubs.  the shorter the club the more chop and downward swing goes into it since the the clubface is closer to your body than say a 4 iron.  I play wedges and up to 8 iron out of a 20% rough (1st cut off fairway) pretty much the same as if it were in the fairway, but I will adjust the backspin accordinging since you will get less spin on the ball

    2) the rough is in percentage ranges, not 30%, but 30-40%, so I take that in stride, some shots will perform better and say those are ones closer to that 30% number.

    3) long irons will always be harder in heavier rough, thats just golf, less ball being hit, less trajectory and no spin

    Practice never makes perfect in golf, practice just makes you a little better each time.

    if you upgrade your clubs, things like the ball going where you aim is minimized quite a bit.  i used starter clubs for a long time and finally got the G10's.  it is certainly harder to hit the line with the faster meter, but when your ball actually goes close to where you aimed, it's a beautiful thing.

    i played a lot of CTTH events with the starters and it was so frustrating when i'm putting together a good round, and then on the 7th hole out of the blue the ball goes way off line and ends up 35' away on the fringe, spoiling my whole round.  it still happens with the G10's, but not nearly as much as with the tour starter set.

    LMAO!!  So says the guy who during our round last night said at various times..."pushed it", "pulled it", "*&%^$", "hit it late", "missed it".........and I was the one who suggested you plan on hitting your R9 Pro driver late!!  I will be saving transcripts from now on LOL.

    The game don't need no stinkin' 3 click meter to make it more challenging.  I have plenty of challenge hitting one click!!

    I would really like to see what kind of reputaion you have I have a feeling It wouldn't be very high 50-55 % the only thing easy about this game is driving after that it takes some knowlage, skill, concentraion. and alittle luck   if it that easy then you should be a master with 70 rounds played btw masters with fewer than a 100 rounds qiut 60% of the time and to me thats just tring to LOOK like a skilled player I know I would be one if I only recored my -5 or better but I dont quit
