Ok, I'm looking for a new driver once I get to level 80 and above. Should I do the Taylormade White driver or the R9? Any thoughts would be much appriciated.

The number of xps required to go from L80 to L88 is roughly the same as it takes to go from 0 to 75... so unless you increase your amount of play dramatically the R11 won't be available to you for a long, long time -- so get the R9.

What is the difference between the R9 versions from L62 and L80,
apart from 5 yds, a faster swing meter and 300 cr (paper comparison)?

Why would you prefer the R9 to the G20? (+ for R9: 10 yds,
    + for G20 = precision + swing speed)

Distance is more important, and I definately think it has more then a 10 yard advantage.

There's a much bigger difference between the L62 and L80 R9 drivers than the stats suggest.  Go for the L80 one, you won't regret it.

Leon is bang on about how long you'd have to wait for the R11, it's worth upgrading now.

This^^.  The 5 yard difference between the 2 R9s is not nearly what it actually is. That 80 R9 will keep up with the R11 for the most part and would be a good move.

this is an on going debate with my friend who just bought the r 11  to be its a waste of money  the r9 out drives it most of the time and i believe it has a bit more forgiveness. i don't plan to change as i progress upward at this point.  don my friend thinks he needs time to adjust to it and says the meter is slower on it.  i am 66 and have finally mastered the meter speed at this point for the r9 280 and it has really helped me with master.  i even dropped all woods as the distance i need most of the time requires a wedge.  however i have not sold them as i have played legends and can see the need for them if i make it to that tier   so bottom line buy the r9 now you wont be sorry and i don't think you will want the r11 when you get there  strikerseasy
