that's all fair and well but do you appreciate the sense of  anger that makes me boil when I spend 30 or 40 minutes of my time doing a 9 hole round and on the very last putt....3ft from the hole and going for -7 the damn meter decides to go t-i-t-s up just as i've pulled the trigger to putt and it misses a sure fire birdie....ending me on -6 again,

this happens to me a lot and i'm sick to death of hitting -6.

it always seems to happen 99.9% of the time going for that crucial birdie....if it happened on the 1st or 2nd birdie I really wouldn't care as much but it's always on the final birdie and is just a complete waste of 30 or 40 minutes of my time.

as for the wind irregularities....i think i have it sussed out now....

when new clubs arrive in the pro shop there's gonna be no need for be to buy new irons that can hit even further....

why would i need new irons when for instance my 3 iron (197 yrds) can travel 210 yrds when I hit it for 190yrds (with full backspin I might add)....on a level approach facing a 16 mph head on wind direction of 5.30pm.....seems the clubs I have already defy many laws of physics as it is...so they'll do for now.

    SusieLuke:

Hi all. Just wondering if I am the only one to encounter a gross inconsistency in what the game gives you regarding putts and fairway shots. It is really frustrating when the game gives you certain information about the greens or wind or lie and you base your stroke on that information and within a reasonable variance in your shots/putts, the game is grossly unreasonable and inconsistent in what it allows your shots to achieve.

just wondering if there is any solution short of quitting it altogether or spending a large amount of money on fantasy clubs

    not really  :-(

Another large inconsistancy, is when you have a slope on the green, you adjust your putt accordingly, but slope has no effect on the ball, please show the green as flat rather than deceive us with those dots moving from right to left.

    WGTadmin2:

The meter performance is affected by a multitude of variables and affects every player differently due to their location, internet service provider, computer, what is installed on the computer and the settings on the computer/ browser. We are working on several solutions which will make the meter more consistent or perform smoother in more conditions but we do not have a simple or catchall solution that we can release. We do and will continue to seek solutions.

But to be clear WGT does not have any control to vary the meters performance by time, type of game, round or stroke. We cannot target an individual nor a specific stroke.

If the meter is performing better or worse at a particular moment it is probably due to congestion between the server and your machine or the current CPU and RAM utilization on your computer.  We have found that most of the issues have to do with the amount of RAM you have and the CPU performance of your system. Running streaming music/video, itunes, anti virus scans, etc...   will noticeably degrade the performance of the meter.

This being said we are actively investigating ways to improve the meter.

Have you considered if there is a bug when using balls that slow down the meter?

I played a few round with the free balls, the meter was travelling much, much faster, but i didn't get a skip all round, but as soon as i swaped back to the balls to slow down meter, i started getting skipy meter again???!!!

I've been suggesting that for over a year. IMO anything that messes with the meter is an invitation for skipping and jerking. The Tour-SD ball performs quite well with relatively infrequent spasms. Once you're tuned into it it is fairly easy to catch a spasm and let the swing go.

Why isn't there a  Callaway ball with a fast meter?

Its just strange that when you have a fast meter i.e using ones with no feel or Free balls, there's no skips, but as soon as you go back to using Gis2's/3's, Legend balls or Callaway ones, with a few dots feel, thats when i've noticed my meter starts playing up.  Due to fact i need distance, spin and a slow meter due to driver and putter, i have to put up with the skips, but playing a round with the free balls to pass time, i don't get NO SKIPS.

So does anyone think that maybe the amount of money spent is directly proportionate to the bugs/glitches/meter issues suffered? Before we go any further I'm not moaning. I understand the game wouldn't exist without people's monies. The concept of us being rewarded initially for club improvement followed by a fallow time to encourage more investment, rings true in my experience.

As an aside, could I please return to being a 'hack', as it may mean I get close to the top 100 every now and again? No offence to you 'hackers', but considering I haven't spent much I feel I'm way out of my depth as a 'Master'!

    lol

If you considered buying decent clubs then you might be able to win some tournaments or at least compete, you wont get far playing off long tees using WGT starter clubs.

Best thing you'll do is upgrade, so much accuracy, longer drives, no wonder you feel out of your depth, WGT starter clubs are only really ment for what they say STARTERS, i.e hack tees.  Upgrade and you'll realise how easier this game will be!

I only use free balls at the moment Chris, and have a smooth meter, never encountered a skip (Yet), should i upgrade my balls when i upgrade my clubs in next few days?

Were this to be the case then by Chris's observation the less you spend (free balls) the less the meter acts up. LOL, I seriously doubt that's the case.

FWIW most meter issues seem to occur when something important is on the line, like a RG or tournament. Rarely does the meter act in those scenarios like it does in simple, solo ranked rounds. Go figure.  :-)
