I thought i20's would have made a good upgrade at L80+, but the new high end G20 clubs (with a 280y driver and i15-like specs, except the meter, which is the same as that of the L32 R11's) are nonetheless a dream come true. I have called for something along those lines for a long time, and feel immensely grateful that wgt so clearly cares about what its members are saying.

I am sure a great many players will also rejoice, and rightfully thank wgt for its superb, considerate work.

I'm with you Gold - the Driver and 3 wood are the best balanced, easiest to hit on here, with virtually no difference in distance from R9/R11. (nike = 300 yds Driver, 265 yds for 3 wood). No more 'zoom' past the ding'! As for the iron set, like all of them, it's a slightly mixed bag. The 8 iron needs a 'tune up' when using backspin, somewhat unpredictable distance. Other than that, the 3 iron is just as long as the Burners, but the gap between PW and Cleve 52 is 10 yards, instead of 30. I may at a later date get the R11 irons, but that option is a ways away for me and you do not need them until Legend (if then). With Nike balls, do we really need to backspin a 3 iron? (R11's). The set (even if you toss the hybrid) is a great bargain as well! Thanks WGT!

As I said in another post, top players and other players who have no issues with the fast meter R11's will not bother with those new high end G20's, but there is most definitely a great demand for them, and I expect wgt to do well with them, much to my delight.

At the legend tier, I personally recommend keeping the hybrid and settling for 2 wedges, 90y and 60y respectively. That is the necessary compromise that comes with those clubs.

The G20 3 wood is already firmly in my bag,(having displaced the R11) this is one instance where the slower meter is great for the long par 3's and approaches on par 5's where you need a well placed shot to have a chance to go birdie or eagle. The driver is very comparable to the R11, need some more comparison time to decide on that match up.

The 110 wedge hits 103 full bs with the nike ball and punches 92 yrds full bs.  You really arent giving up much dropping the 3rd wedge and bagging the  225 hybrid which helps from legend tees.

I'm a bit bummed I bought the Burners two weeks ago, these G20's look like they would solve my wedge selection conundrum. A lower hitting PW is the biggest appeal here for me...More so than the meter.

Definitely going to get the driver when I get to level 81 in a few days time. Looks streets better than my R9.

Replace the Satin54(110) with the CG 56(100)-perfect fit. Same meter, more spin and accuracy.

IMO, you have bigger issues than that, Timbo. You have 2 60 degree wedges and a 25 yard gap in your 4 wedge setup. You can do way better than that if you want to carry 4 wedges.

Truth be told, the R11's are clearly superior, and allow a superb lineup of 3 top Cleveland wedges with great distance separation (100y, 80y, and 60y), as the hybrid is essentially useless or unnecessary. The stopping power of those wedges on tournament greens is a big plus, compared to their lesser counterparts, reduced to 2 in the G20 scenario; i.e., 90y and 60y. Still, if the slightly slower meter is of serious interest to you, the G20 clubs are a good option that keeps you capably in play from the legend tees, all the more as the driver puts the ball into orbit with a very respectable 280y.

I suspect, however, that an R11S upgrade will eventually put the G20S further to shame. But that's all right in my books.
