THE 400 YARD DRIVE CLUB

  I had a 402 yard drive on 10-13-12 which I made a replay of but which was not recorded in my "STATS" or "AWARDS" sections in my Profile.  My "ACTIVITY" section also states that I made a replay of the shot, plus "MY SCORE HISTORY" shows that I had played on that date at St Andrews-B-9 where I made the shot. I have written three (3) times to Member Services that my shot was not recorded and I would like a correction to be made.  After my original letter the reply from Member Services was that the Tournament was not over and once over it would be recorded. I have been playing for a year and a half and your "BEST" are recorded right away when you are playing or at least at the end of the game and I told M S that. I wrote another letter and I still have not received a reply.  SO I AM ASKING ANYONE OUT THERE FOR YOUR HELP, ADVICE, OPINIONS, OR SUGESTIONS in how I can somehow get this corrected.  Member Services has not given me a reply (2) since that first reply after my original letter.  This is very important to me since it was my "LONGEST DRIVE" ever.     Your help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.  THANKS.      HARRYBUNKER

  Hello there Harry, I’m sorry to say that your drive, according to the rules of golf, is not counted.

   

  For a drive to count, the ball must finish up on the fairway or green. If you look at your shot from camera 3 you will see that the ball as run off the green, through the apron (Which still counts as the fairway) and just into the rough at the back.

  Just a good stiff wind at your back and topspin so it runs longer...and some luck.

  HI  JOHN,  THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY.  THANKS for your explanation as to why my 402 yard drive was probably not recorded as a "Personal Best" or "My Longest Drive" in my "STATS" and "AWARDS" sections of my Profile.  I certainly believe you, but why in the H--- didn't Member Services explain that to me in the 3 letters that I have written to them. As I stated above their reply to my original letter was that the Tournament was not over and that the 402 yard drive would be recorded when it was over, they never have and I have never received a reply from my 2nd and 3rd letters.  Guess I did not receive the replys because maybe the person that replied found out that they don't know what they are really talking about.   Again, THANKS John and I hope that I will be able to join your 400 yard club very soon.           HARRY

  My long drive is 421, somewhere at St. A's no doubt.
