  On that same subject about tiers, how can a player that's shot average is 7 points higher than mine ( 75-82) and is a level 28 when I'm a 58 be a "tour pro" as I am only a "pro".....what so you have to do to move up....purchase equipment ?....just wanna know !

  avg score 62 just made tour master few weeks ago

  proudpapa he is higher than you probably because he just became tour pro.  As an example I work my way down to a 63 average or below & I become a tour master ( as per the question above). My next game, or 1st as a tour master i shoot 36 my new average as a tour master will be 72 & then I begin to work it down. I believe you get 8 or 10 ranked rounds for your score to settle out & then from there you only go down. Hope that helps

  When that player moved to tour pro their average started again from their first round in that tier.  If they hit bad scores early on then they willhave a high average.  Maybe they've only played 1 round and hit 41 for 9 holes or 82 for 18.  I think everyone's average goes up when they move to a new tier, after a while you get it back down, a lot quicker when you get to the point where only your best rounds count.

  To move up you need to get your average to a certain figure, sorry don't remember what it is for tour pro but I'm sure someone will know.  And you have to have played a certain number of ranked rounds as pro.

  yeah shoeman you are wrong... sorry not tryin to make you look bad at all but alas you are incorrect all tournament rounds are at the end of the day ranked rounds as they affect your stroke average

   

   Yes .. All ranked , saying I played the Tournys and not regular stroke,or CC games.

  ( forget green-speeds /  for a few minutes)

  I understand everything you have said.

  But..there has to be more to this, as I have NEVER shot a 61 and a 63 once.

  I have  NEVER avg'ed  under 65.

  Have NEVER shot a 30  / let alone avg. in the 30 / 31's , in 9 hole games.

  ... best game in 9 holes was a -5 ( I believe) ONE TIME.

  If this is the criteria ... check my stats and explain it to me.

  Also .. a friend I play with alot / who STINKS .. has NEVER been below a 71 avg.

  has NEVER shot the scores you are talking.  - Is a TOUR MASTER

  How can someone who NEVER broke 70 ( or shoot 30/31's in 9 holes ),

  I still don't know for sure .

  I think these 61/63 avg. scores are more  coincidence  than  criteria .

  I think the criteria .. lays more on the putting or putting avg.

  By playing in alot of tournies .. I think the green-speeds were fast / very fast.

  I think you can slow the green-speeds down in stroke games / which I didn't use.

  Putting and / or Green-Speeds .. I think is more likely.

  Even , my friend who STINKS .. has some good putts.

  correct me if I am wrong here :

  Masters and Tour Masters ..

  1. can buy the same equipment ( if the level number is same)

  2. Use the same Tee box

  3. the only difference is green-speed ?

  besides green-speeds .. Is there any difference ?

  My belief is .. Once you hit a certain putting avg.,

  you move up to faster green-speeds / tour-master.

  So ... when Masters play a game with a Tour Master (s) / (tourny greens) / there isn't any advantage or difference between the two.

  but.. like I said / I could be wrong ?

  ok... i believe one of the previous posts got it right... that when the new tiers were created you got classified as a tourmaster... at the time my average was 67 or 68 so i remained a master, when i dropped below 63 i moved up to tourmaster and my average started over. when that got down to 61 i moved to legend (trust me i was happier as a tourmaster.)

  after that all i can say is to read the FAQ section on tiers and how to advance WGT explains it pretty simply... i DO know that putting average has nothing to do with anything because if it did i'd still be playing fast greens lol (ok kidding but i'm not an ace putter anyways)

  perhaps your best bet to get answers to your questions would be to contact WGT directly... you may have to wait awhile for a response but i imagine you'll get one.

  one last thing that i and many of my friends have noticed as they move up. there ARE subtle diferences. for example, the tournament speed greens play faster as a legend than as a tourmaster and the penalty for misshits also goes up as your tier does. i don't know if any of this helps but i hope so.

  look at the bright side, depending on your equipment most holes you can still hit driver/wedge or short iron from your tees lol. and in your tournaments names like yoban and boloxinbrudges don't sit at the top of the leaderboard with scores that are off the scale low lol. life aint easy at legend man i'll tell ya lol

  can't speak for tour pro as i never was one lol and master i had well over the required number when they came up with the idea. but tourmaster is 50 rounds, legend is 400...

  that's gonna take me a lonnnnng time lol
