Full backspin. Full shot, not punch will go 1/2 the distance it normally goes. So if you have a 15 yrd putt hit it full shot full backspin for 30 yrds.

    itsthetodman:

so if my yardage of club is 60 i hit it half way for a 15 foot or do i hit it half for 30 foot

A 15 foot putt is only 5 yds...Don't get confused between feet and yards... The shot has to played for Yards

    DannyPhan:

For me with hi-level CC16 64 and Nike ball full backspin, shot goes +/- 28yards.

so the basic formula works my CC16 is rated 60yrds and shot goes almost 30.

but you need to  practice, practice, practice,

This is the correct  procedure using this type of club and ball...

Remember ..... Full Backspin... Full Shot... Ding and ball will travel 30yrds (or close to it), depending on wind.

I use a green wedge around 3 times a round I reckon. Just a case of lifting the ball over most of the irregularities.

Here is a formula that you work off. Distance changes if the putt is uphill or downhill.

Distance in feet divided by 11  x  10  =  the YARDS you will hit, remember full swing with your wedge and full back spin. This is a starting point and you can refine it from there.  Hope that helps.

    IH8kidz:
If you are using a wedge(not PW), the only thing that works is a standard full shot. You can take some off, but must be a full shot.

Not so, IH8! Full or Punch shots will both work from on the green. Similar rule of thumb for distance (2x needed) although the punch roll-out will be different than a full shot. What won't work from on the green are Chips, Pitches, or Flop shots.
