I was looking at the rental cost of the Daytona putter and happened to notice the fine print.

"All rentals are not refundable or exchangeable. The depicted properties and attributes of the items only approximate their performance and may be modified."

May be modified-like depending on what tier player has it? Kinda sounds familiar to what ghettocop was talking about this weekend.

Anybody want to hazard a guess as to what this means?

Just another standard CYA statement that they need to have in there to give them the ability to 'tweak' the properties of the equipment if they need to.  It tends to happen from time to time in a BETA release ;^).  Just like the weight loss pills that say 'results may vary'.  I wouldn't read too much more into it.

Interesting.  "and may be modified".  This certainly leaves the door open at least to changing a clubs characteristics depending on circumstances.  Good catch.

A real good example is this:  On the night of February 24th while you were sleeping WGT snuck into your golf bag, extracted your putter and gave it a 300' meter in advance of the release of the St. Andrews front 9 the next morning.

Unfortunately, when they went into my bag they pilfered my flask of single-malt scotch.  Please return it.  Niv??

I was wondering sincei actually play golf when i spend big money on a driver its touted as long and forgiving. Why is the master r 9 so unforgiving in real life it isn't.

In real life, with your r9 do you hit more than 80% of the fairways?  And when was the last time you topped or skyed your WGT r9?  Or even hit it on the toe or heel?  In fact, when was the last time in real life you averaged 64 per round?  Rhetorical questions, but I think you get the point.

Which brings me to my other point, although a bit off-topic,. Maybe WGT should set this up so we can't average any better than the top PGA/World pros.  Thoughts?

I am a 7hdcp so all ur points are valid but my question is why is the club not real life. The pros get a driver that is very forgiving.

A bunch come to mind but two things jump out-how would they accomplish this without changing the clubs? And how would they handle the overwhelming forum posts complaining about averages going up? LOL-meltdown.

YankeeJim... better than most you can understand this.  ARod comes to mind.  Along with others.  Our ability to shoot down to 59 averages here sorta compares with the steroid era.  Yes, some averages (mine included) would need to go up.  But why should anyone here be able to score better than Tiger, Stricker or Phil???  If WGT is truely the most realistic game then perhaps the averages need to fall more in line with reality.

I don't think they would need to change the clubs per se... just change the abilty to score with them.  And the best putting player on WGT should average 1.77 putts per hole.  But also let that same player average 302 yards per drive.

Or maybe they just need to "dial up" the VEM to make things more realistic.  What a sea change this would be!

Tibbits got outta here in the nick of time!
