    PhilA2:

SOLUTION: SINCE YOU KEEP ALL SORT OF STATS WHY NOT HAVE A STAT FOR NUMBER OF FINISHED ROUNDS PER 50 OR 100 ROUNDS. DOESNT MATTER IF THEY QUIT OR DISCONNECT FOR SOME REASON BUT IT IS A STAT THAT A PLAYER CAN SEE AND DECIDE IF THEY WANT TEE OFF WITH THIS PLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Yeah I agree here but with less shouting

    To WGTicon,

Here are two simple solutions to help alleviate players from quitting random multi-player games.

    1. Stop all random multi-player games.

    2. Friends only multi-player games - The game-client should only be able to search friends lists, and send a multi-player game invite to (green/blue) available players from their friends list.

These are reasonable solutions to cut-back on the amount of players who quit random multi-player games, not to mention all the threads that don't need to be written every-time someone quits on another player.

There are plenty of other harsher methods to alleviate quitting, but WGT would never entertain the thought of implementing any of them, so they don't need to be mentioned here.

This will never happen. It defeats the purpose of the game. How are you going to meet people and befriend them if you can't play random matches. Don't contradict yourself in your own question.

It doesn't contradict myself at all buggy. Have you ever heard of making friends in this game besides playing a random multi-player game? You sound silly with such a foolish statement. All the people I ever met in this game never once came from playing a multi-player game with them. And just because their not on my friends list doesn't mean I don't know them either.

Besides, this is about doing something to stop players from quitting, not meeting people in a multi-player game. That's the problem. Maybe when you've been here longer you'll understand. Legend in four months? Damn, you're a pretty fast learner buggy.

We are always listening for ideas how to make the game better, however in this case, all we hear are statements instead of possible solutions.

How about start a new stat:

Disconnects vs games played for all Multi-Player games.

Even if someone has a high number/percentage and it is due to their connections, then I probably don't want to have that person in my group anyhow.

You would need to make the penalties more severe.

After a few days continuous play, players are getting are getting 880 bonus points and you get these just for playing a single hole.  This would allow them to quit up to 11 times in a day with no real loss of points.

Make the loss 1,000 points initially and after each 10 quit games double the loss to 2,000 points,  then 4,000 points, then 8,000 and it will make quitters think differently.

Unfortunately, as I and many others have stated, there is no way to read person's mind and why they disconnect. It could be on purpose but also by several other reasonable reasons.

I believe there many problems created by a player that quit, that affect decent and honest player way more than it affect a quitter..

The most important, in my opinion, is the lost of XP that aloud us to level Up.

If the XP point system only give players the points at the end of the game and only if the 4 players finished (in ranked); then a quitter mess that up if you were lucky and the game didn't froze. We lost the XP, let say we played to #8 and the 3 players quit... I wont get all the XP points of the 8 holes I played with 3 persons.

Possible solution: Instead of giving the XP at the end of the game, give the points after each hole. that way People would't care is some one quit.

Also it will be ok to receive all the XP at the end, but cosibdering all the holes that were played with multiple players. The sistem only give those if all the players end the game. So if I played 2 hours a 18 holes ranked round with 4 players and in #17 3 players disconect... i will receive nothing lol... that is kind of the reason people get mad. So ok, everyone is free to quit... but don't punish the ones who didn't!

Also, worst scenario, game froze and I receive absolutely nothing, lost ball duration, XP, time, and what was the point of finishing the game after 2 hours?  So At least if the game froze I wont be mad either beacuse I received all the XP played.

Side effect: Quitter will also get the XP in each hole so less incentive to finish the game.

due to the fack that a game that froze is rare and something than will be eventually fixed.

    My 5 cents would be:

Configure the system in order to keep track of the XP earned during the game, taking into consideration the # of player up to which hole and give the finishers all the XP the deserve. If they played with 4 guys 7 holes and only 2 finish the round. give those 2 all the XP of a 4 player round up to the hole #7 and the remaining 2 holes give the XP according to a 2 player game.
