how do you hit out of a fairway bunker other then punching the ball 40 yards or so? i think i have tried it about everyway possible. thanks for any helpful hints.

if bunkers more than 15/20, you will likely need to use wedge and hit out and then scramble for par

I have found this rather frustrating also. When the ball rolls gently into the bunker it should be sitting nicely on top of the sand and not warrant a 30-40% lie forcing you into the 65 yard wedge out.
