The 2014 WGT Virtual Tour is off to a big start with over 50,000 WGT players already competing in the first week of the IOA Open on Pebble Beach.

This closest-to-the-hole tournament on WGT features nine challenging shots at Pebble Beach, including the intimidating second shot over the cliff on the 6th hole, the unforgettable tee shot to the 7th green and the historic second shot on the 18th. Test your skills today on the ocean-lined fairways, perfectly manicured greens and iconic layout of Pebble Beach.

Don't forget to post your first round by 1/24 and second round by 1/31. The Top 70 combined scores in each WGT Tier (Pro, Tour Pro, Master, Tour Master, Legend and Tour Legend) will split a purse of over 200,000 WGT Credits, which also accumulate toward the overall standings of the 2014 WGT Virtual Tour. Note that Hacks and Amateurs can play too but not for WGT Credits until they reach the Pro tier.

WGT and Golf Channel are excited to announce the 2014 WGT Virtual Tour, the largest online golf season in history.

The WGT Virtual Tour is a free year-long competition, featuring monthly online tournaments where WGT players accumulate WGT Credits by competing against other players in their same WGT tier. Top finishers in the monthly tournaments AND the season-long point standings will qualify for the virtual championship AND the first-ever live WGT event, both held in December 2014.

Adding to the excitement, Golf Channel will be covering the WGT Virtual Tour, including online scores, virtual leaderboards, updates and even player interviews on TV, just like the professional Tours!

The 2014 WGT Virtual Tour kicks off this month with the IOA Open, sponsored by the Insurance Offices of America, held on Pebble Beach with a record purse of 200,000 WGT Credits. Be sure to post your first round by 1/24 in order to compete in the second round by 1/31 for the best combined score.
